An interesting question. When we say good, does it mean beneficial to you alone or both (you and your downline)? Depending on what is define here as good, I may or may not satisfy the reader.
A new affiliate might at first be confused upon his/her first time logging in to his/her homepage. Some are slow and some are fast learner. I will not consider a slow learner to be no good, because it just takes time for him/her to learn and as he/she put her belief in all his/her SFI activities, he/she might become a super affiliate. The key to the signs of a new affiliate becoming a good one, is by showing him/herself enthusiastic, asking questions to his upline or SFI support, participating in the forum and reading past Ask SC submitted questions. His consistency, perseverance and determination will be measured by the following metrics, like VersaPoints, Power Rank, Number of Badges and Star ratings.
In my opinion, the key questions to ask for signs of a new affiliate becoming a good one are: How high is his/her teachability index? Does he/she believe in mastering the basics by applying the SFI rules of success? Is he/she willing to change and do whatever it takes to become successful?
