I LOVE this question because this was actually my exact question when I first started SFI. Over the years, I have learned that for my style of business, my success is largely dependent upon a working downline. It isn't just enough to have affiliates, but you NEED to have working downline to be successful. Therefore, referring members is good, but it becomes a double-edged sword if you can get those members to become affiliates. Now they still buy, but their buying also helps them; grows them; and causes them to become more successful too.
In the words of one of my favorite motivational speakers of all time, the late Mr. Zig Ziglar, "you can have anything in life you want, if you just help enough people get what they want in life." Teach them to be successful and you are bound to benefit.
