Nobody knows you better than friends and family. Honesty, timing, and attitude are going to be essential. Here are the 3 basics from my perspective:
Honesty: Don't blow your success out of proportion. What I am saying is don't mix potential with reality. If you are making $1.50 a month, don't tell your cousin you are making $150.
Timing: Don't sell "potential", sell results. Wait long enough that you can SHOW them your progress. Have a little history behind you so that they do not think this is just some scheme that you are trying to pull them into.
Attitude: If you are not excited about the business, why should they be? This excitement can't be false, remember, they know you. If you are seeing progress and want them to see your vision, backed by some accomplishment, they will see that too.
