I believe the best approach to do that would be the one where they ask you questions out of curiosity instead of you trying to convince them to join.
There are many ways to create situations like this:
- if you are active with PriceBenders Auctions you can show some great items you have won there. For example, I have won Monster Speaker, very neat little device. When we travel we always take it with us, many friends and family members were very impressed with it, so I have told them I got it at the penny auction for just under $2. Then everyone wants to know more. You can give some details and present them with $12 gift card.
- your family and friends can notice you speaking to local businesses about them joining ranks of ECA partners. They would what to know what this is all about. Then you can explain that you are in business, that you are looking to connect business owners with the company you work for.
- and of course, friends and family can see you checking your SFI website, answering e-mails or login in to participate in T-Time and PTP several times a day, so this would probably raise a few questions as well. Give them brief explanation and say that you can send them the link later to check it out.
In any case, be confident and don't try to push it on them. Rather make them ask all the questions.
