In my personal opinion every good sponsor should be sending out at a minimum, one team mail message each week. This shows their downline that they care and are just as much involved as they are in building their business.
To address the immediate question "how much is too much" one has to ask, how serious do we want our downlines to be? Anybody who joined SFI and is 100% serious about building a strong successful business won't be turned off by emails intended to assist them in their efforts. Most people who use email at work receive countless emails a day, it's just part of conducting business.
On the other hand if a sponsor is sending out emails daily to their downline and all they are doing is telling them to buy stuff from TripleClicks and set up a standing order, then this becomes too much and is serving no purpose whatsoever.
The key here is to understand it depends on the quality of communications. If a sponsor is sending good training mails on a daily basis, but they are truly helping their downline, then this in my opinion is fine.
Sponsors need to understand that there is no right answer to this question, because it all depends on what you are contacting your downline about.
