Good question. I think everyday is too much to contact the team members, because they are first of all people, who want to spend time to relax, with family and friends. I respect people's time, because it's precious. I think one to three times per week is a great period. Well, it depends from people in the team. I contact my team members twice - I send them team mail and a newsletter. If they want to discuss something, they give me a call in Skype or send me a e-mail. People should be interested in communicating with the leader and every time they contact him/her to learn new stuff. This happens with time. The leader should improve, read and learn daily. This way he/she will have something to share often, but not everyday.
