Speaking from my own experience, I would say both. But I would give a slight advantage to initial contact.
I understand that many people are afraid of internet marketing and anything that has any connections with making money from home and on internet. And those few who dare to try, often are also little scared but interested and willing to try.
Initial contact show them that you are a real live person, and they relax a little bit. After that they could learn in short time, what SFI realy is, and how does it work first hand. Affiliate realize that thay can contact my, and ask anything with no fear.
In other hand, there are also many affiliate who work, and understand things easily, no need for long talk about SFI. They simply start to work. And read and listen what i have to say in my tips.
For both, the follow-up is also very important.
I come from Croatia and here, in Balkan region of Europe, people like to be sure before they try something new. Many are afraid to be a scam.
So, again, I give slight advantage to initial contact than follow-ups. But they are both from great value to my SFI bussiness.
