Well I have to admit this is a tough call, most people put great stock in their first impressions, on the other hand if you don't follow up you'll certainly loose those people 'sitting on the fence'
I'm going to say that the follow up is more important, generally people who are not interested in what we are offering won't answer any of our adverts anyway, those who come here are already interested at some level, I'm not saying you should forget about first impressions, but how much of SFI can you actually explain in an e-mail which is not going to bore somebody silly. By following up with regular information and simple instructions, by showing what you do and what you achieve from those actions you will do the best job of bringing in people who are not sure or who have forgotten they signed up.
