Comparing them or rating them which one is important and therefore give emphasis on one of them makes no sense. I would rather look at them as important stages for recruiting someone to join your SFI team. You can't follow-up your prospect without initial contact.
Your initial contact is the starting point of establishing communication with your prospect. A short conversation about his/her interests, ideas, viewpoints, for example-the better job you can do in deciding whether he/she is a good candidate that requires your attention to follow-up. Focus on quality affiliates not on quantity.
