What's more important--the initial contact with a prospect or the follow-up, and why?

I would have to say the follow up. While it is true that without the initial contact. follow up would be impossible, it is the follow up that is usually the contact that makes the conversion. It takes between 3 and 7 viewings of an ad for a prospect to decide to buy your product. It would follow that it also takes multiple contacts for you to convince a prospect to join SFI.
