For myself I learned a lot about advertising by joining several Traffic Exchanges and reading the advertising in the emails I received while participating in various traffic exchanges programs.
I learned that most advertisments are much too long and I never finished reading them. I lost interest after about three sentences.
Most of the advertisments were attempting to get me to buy something rather than pointing out big reasons why I should join the particular program. I would respond to statements like: "Fourteen years of progresive success" because it told me something about the strength of the program.
Statements such as: "Get in NOW before we launch in 7 days!" were not persuasive because they indicated a program was in its infancy and likely riddled with little problems which would likely lead to bigger problems and ultimate failure.
The most interesting ads were short and sweet. They were often only three or four short sentences that made me want to learn more.
An example of a good ad would be: "Get paid 50% commissions. We teach you how. Free trial for 30 days." I would want to know more and click on the "Start Now" button to find out more.
When you use the internet, join one or more traffic exchanges to learn about effective advertising. Do a Google search for "traffic exchanges".
