If you are building an "SFI Website", then it probably is not going to be personal. SFI is a business, so treat your website as an extension of your business.
For building out your site, just use Wordpress. It is no longer just a blogging platform, but is now a complete content management system. Yes, if you want to waste a lot of time you could learn other systems, but why bother? There are tons of good free WP tutorials on the web. Also there is a plethora of great plug-ins and widgets which will allow you to customise your site. You don't need to learn html or csc, or any of that other fancy coding stuff (can be helpful though). You can have static pages, and opt-in forms, run your own advertisements, even have a newsletter. It comes with a basic membership ability, so you can limit access to certain pages for your downline, and leave the rest open for public viewing. Of course, it even has a built-in blog function so you can interact with your customers. Facebook and Twitter integration is easy, and Google loves it.
Your first website can be built out in a few hours, but will probably take weeks for you to decide on your colour scheme, text styling, pictures, and all the other options that are available to you. A great thing about WordPress is you can make changes to your sites without having to take them offline.
With Wordpress, the other stuff is too complicated or just out of date.
