I have found that four simple rules are helpful, the last being very important.

1: Look back on previous auctions. Watch for patterns within the time zones.
2: Decide what it is that you want to buy, don't bid just for the sake of it.
3: Set a budget, make sure you have the T credits to go all the way and don't auto bid.
4: Remember the prices rises by 1 cent, but your T credits cost you a lot more each.

It is easy to get excited and enter a bidding frenzy and before you know it, your tokens are gone. Tokens that at the least may have cost you 29 cents each. So be careful and choose wisely.
