I do not initiate contact with my affiliates via live chat unless I know them very well (outside of SFI), I know that they prefer live chat (because this is the method they've used to contact me most in the past) or unless or unless I have a recent email or Team mail from them and I happen to catch them while they are still online. I find that affiliates who are shy can be driven away if you contact them via live chat and less likely to sign in again because they will fear feeling "cornered" again.
If I am contacted by one of my affiliates via Live chat I try to make sure that I spend as much time trying to help them as possible at that moment, no matter what time of day it is, because I feel that most affiliates who contact you via that method (if you don't already know them) feel that they have an emergency even if it doesn't appear to be one from my perspective.
