Appreciate your answers all but arent we missing the point? Not everyone likes contests! The real question is about motivation. Every management book I have read talks about recognition and title rather than money as a motivating factor and if you want to build a successful team it is not the gifts, tc credits or even reassignment in their early stages with SFI but the recognition and positive feedback you give them and that they respond to.
If you keep offering prizes then their motivation for participating in SFI doesnt lead to a healthy team When they realise "I CAN DO IT" then they have become quality affiliates. My belief then is that the rewards that have been talked about be given to the affiliates on a random basis simply by participating as a TEAM! Just like SFI does with its Daily Award winners.
Now you will have a situation where EVERYONE IS IN A WIN WIN WIN SITUATION?
I know that winner a prize keeps me interested and going because I know that one day I may win the big one but as I continually do the things asked of me I am learning more about the business and see my VP rise My motivation has become internalized and I dont need the prizes to succeed because as the VP go up I KNOW I AM SUCCEEDING AND WILL BE SUCCESSFUL
