To answer your question. The best ads that have been working for me is solo ads. All you got to do is send them out and the response rate is great.
You can however also use banner advertising as these also are still effective as well. Try the different banners and also use key codes to help you know where your advertising responses are coming from.
You can also share your referral link with your facebook friends, but use the tripleclick links as I find most of the links are being block by fb.
Most of all be persistent in your advertising. Don't ever give up. The more you advertise the better the results will be for you.

Is it worthwhile to send individual welcome letters to new PSAs...or can I just send out group mailings?

To answer your question, its better to send individual welcome emails. Everyone likes to know that their Sponsor has taken time out of their busy schedule to say hello. This is a personal greeting.
Leave group mailers for important messages.
Give one on one help when you can do so.
Members of your downline follow your examples. So you want to teach them to contact every member and give them all the help they will need. So I recommend emailing PSA individually and leave bigger things for group emailing.

Is it wise to 'bribe' your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives? Or does this practice come back and bite you?

To bribe is not a good thing. It's better to offer your downline incentives. When I heard the word bribe it sounds as though you want them to do something illegal. However everyone have their own opinion on the matter.
Offer to do something like giving your downline affiliates free transfer sign ups, when they get sponsors or stay above the green line.
I believe these things make good incentives.
How can you be an SFI Team Leader if you're not a born leader?

That is a good question.
To answer your question, you are born a team leader, but if you want to be a good Team Lead you will have to follow all the rules that all other members of SFI have done to get there.
To make a good Team Leader, you must be a good follower. You must learn from your Upline Sponsors. Learn from your co-sponsors, learn from the Top leaders in the organization; those who had put the business together which you are now a part of.
Study the online materials, the training manuals and best tips given by each member of the A2A Membership. All this will help you grow into the Team Leader that you want to be; not only for yourself, but those you recruit into SFI.

If you could completely start over with SFI today, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?

That is a good question.
If I had to do it all over again, i would gather the information I needed first to succeed. I would watch the training videos i could find on SFI and ask questions to my upline sponsors what they did to make it in SFI.
Then I would talk to people and send out emails to people about SFI. I would also post banner ads on websites, send solo ads and click SFI tabs to earn VersaPoints. Everyday I would do these things.
