Building an SFI business is like building a house. It isn’t quick, but if done properly it will last for years.

So today I will continue working on the foundations, and the walls.

The foundations will be around the daily To-Do list, reading as much information as I can, visiting the forum and generally continue to build my knowledge. I also have a practice of focussing on a specific are I wish to learn more about, say the ECA program; so I will concentrate on building my knowledge

Becoming a good team leader in SFI, or any pursuit for that matter, takes time. Similarly building self-esteem is a process which can't be completed overnight.

The good news is that working on one can benefit the other. As your leadership skills develop so will your confidence and self-belief, and as your confidence and self-belief grow so you will become a better leader.

There are many good books and courses available on both leadership skills and developing self-esteem. What

Can brainstorming help me build my SFI team? If so, how can I employ brainstorming for its benefits?

While brainstorming has been considered a great way to generate ideas, recent research has shown it has limitations. One of these is "group think" where one person’s ideas start to dominate and others follow that path rather than branching out along a variety of paths.

A group which studies creativity and innovation (Inventium) has developed a modified form of brainstorming which seeks to overcome this problem and may be a good approach, especially when you have a team which

I want to be a good co-sponsor to my CSAs...but I don't want to overstep boundaries on those who have a great sponsor. How do I fill my role appropriately?

To be honest I am not sure that there is a boundary to cross.

Neither role can direct an affiliate. Both offer guidance and support. What an affiliate does with that is up to them. So in that role there is no risk of conflict.

I am fortunate enough to have both an excellent sponsor and an excellent co-sponsor. Both support me and provide plenty of information and encouragement.

From my co-sponsor I get frequent communications, inspirational messages through her Stream

There are two ways to look at this question. It could be that your spouse is reluctant to be involved, or you are trying to work out how best to involve them.

If they are reluctant to be involved it becomes a matter of understanding why. Some people are understandably suspicious of business opportunities on the internet, others are concerned about the reward for effort. If your spouse is suspicious of SFI it becomes a matter of showing that there is no risk. There is no requirement to

How can I learn to be a good Team Leader for my group?

I have found the best way to learn about being a leader is to look at my leaders. Whether they are doing well or doing poorly there is something to learn from them.

If I have a leader I am not motivated by I look at what it is they do, or don't do, that makes me feel that way. In other words I try to learn from their mistakes.

When I encounter a leader who impresses me I look at their actions and try to copy them. I use them as my role model.

To be successful in SFI, what attributes do you need the people on your team to have?

One of the many beauties of the SFI business is that there is no single skill set or personality type required to succeed. There is scope for people who are good at face-to-face communication, internet marketing wizards, sales people and recruiting gurus; and there is opportunity for people who aren't brilliant at any of these but are willing to work and learn.

In my opinion the key attributes then are:
- willingness to learn
- willingness to share
- persistence

The key points for me were:
1. There is no pressure to spend money.
2. There are no outrageous claims or promises.
3. A clear process is set out for you to follow.
4. There are real products to sell.
5. My sponsors both made contact soon after I joined.
6. The “Ask SC” and “Forum” pages provide a real sense of community, and
7. It has existed for 18 years – an eternity in internet time.
I have participated in a number of online and offline businesses,

There is a huge amount of information available on becoming an internet entrepreneur. There are books, blogs and websites a plenty all offering the key to success. Probably the hardest part is determining which ones have the real key.

I think the best way is to look to emulate someone who you know is successful. Look to the leaders in your genealogy, identify someone who has achieved what you want to achieve and copy them. Contact them and ask them directly "How did you do it? What

What is the difference between working hard...and working SMART in SFI? How do I make sure I'm in the second group?

The key to working SMART is to avoid reinventing the wheel. SFI provides a wonderful range of resources to use across all aspects of the business - use them. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you need to develop a new approach.

Secondly don't be afraid to ask for help form your sponsors. Learn form their experience rather than trying to do it all yourself.
