What are you doing today (to develop your SFI business) that will matter tomorrow?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
Building an SFI business is like building a house. It isn’t quick, but if done properly it will last for years.
So today I will continue working on the foundations, and the walls.
The foundations will be around the daily To-Do list, reading as much information as I can, visiting the forum and generally continue to build my knowledge. I also have a practice of focussing on a specific are I wish to learn more about, say the ECA program; so I will concentrate on building my knowledge in that area, and developing the plans and activities to build that part of my SFI house.
As for my “walls”, today’s activities will be around selecting some products that fit with my target market and doing some promotion of those. I have a potential ECA I have been pursuing, so I will be contacting them again today.
As for my “roof” I will polishing my blog, both in terms of content and look.
It is still a work in progress but I am liking the look of this structure.

How can I become a good team leader in SFI if I have low self-esteem and lack experience?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
Becoming a good team leader in SFI, or any pursuit for that matter, takes time. Similarly building self-esteem is a process which can't be completed overnight.
The good news is that working on one can benefit the other. As your leadership skills develop so will your confidence and self-belief, and as your confidence and self-belief grow so you will become a better leader.
There are many good books and courses available on both leadership skills and developing self-esteem. What will work for you will depend on a range of factors, so my best advice would be to look around, read as much as you can until you find something that resonates.
To supplement your reading, look for a leader whose style and results appeal to you then seek to duplicate their behaviours and results. Surprisingly it is possible to improve your confidence simply by acting confident. Not quite "fake it til you make it", but along those lines.

Can brainstorming help me build my SFI team? If so, how can I employ brainstorming for its benefits?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
While brainstorming has been considered a great way to generate ideas, recent research has shown it has limitations. One of these is "group think" where one person’s ideas start to dominate and others follow that path rather than branching out along a variety of paths.
A group which studies creativity and innovation (Inventium) has developed a modified form of brainstorming which seeks to overcome this problem and may be a good approach, especially when you have a team which is spread across the world.
The approach is called "Shifting" and it requires shifting between group and individual idea generation. There are four steps:
1. Instruct your group to work on the problem/task alone for 5 to 10 minutes or until you see the pens start to slow.
2. Then bring the group together and get people to share their ideas one-by-one around the table and build on each other’s ideas. This should take between 20 and 40 minutes.
3. Next, shift back into individual mode and get people to build on the shared ideas alone for 5 to 10 minutes or until you see the pens start to slow again.
4. And lastly, bring the group back together and repeat Step 2.
Obviously this is designed for a group who can be together in one room, but could be adapted for a virtual meeting. The important thing is to have everyone feeling involved and generate lots of ideas!

I want to be a good co-sponsor to my CSAs...but I don't want to overstep boundaries on those who have a great sponsor. How do I fill my role appropriately?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
To be honest I am not sure that there is a boundary to cross.
Neither role can direct an affiliate. Both offer guidance and support. What an affiliate does with that is up to them. So in that role there is no risk of conflict.
I am fortunate enough to have both an excellent sponsor and an excellent co-sponsor. Both support me and provide plenty of information and encouragement.
From my co-sponsor I get frequent communications, inspirational messages through her Stream Posts, congratulations on achievements and kept up to date with the goings on in her team. From my sponsor I get all those things plus some targeted assistance. I don't believe there is any danger at all of my sponsor feeling put out by my co-sponsors actions. In fact he only stands to gain as her support helps to motivate me even more.
So in summary, I believe you can feel safe in offering advice and encouragement to your CSA's, without fear of "trading on toes". Those who have a great sponsor, like me, will be no less appreciative and those who are not so fortunate will at least have you to help them along the way.

How can you get your spouse involved in your SFI business?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
There are two ways to look at this question. It could be that your spouse is reluctant to be involved, or you are trying to work out how best to involve them.
If they are reluctant to be involved it becomes a matter of understanding why. Some people are understandably suspicious of business opportunities on the internet, others are concerned about the reward for effort. If your spouse is suspicious of SFI it becomes a matter of showing that there is no risk. There is no requirement to pay any fees, nor is any purchase required. These facts should help allay any fears.
The concern over reward for effort is a little harder to address. The SFI business takes time to build and this means there are no quick returns to show. Here it may be best to focus on how easy it is to do the basics and the opportunity to actually enjoy working on your business. Of course if you have reached the stage of having a significant income, that can be very persuasive :).
If the question is how best to utilise your spouse in the business it then becomes a matter of working with each of your strengths. Who ever is good with words draft blog posts and advertisements, if one of you is good with people then they should be the "face" of your business. Try to each work in the area you are strongest and combine your talents.
From my own perspective, my spouse and I work very closely together, each of us focusses on an area of strength and we see the time we work together on SFI as a great opportunity to have a common focus.

How can I learn to be a good Team Leader for my group?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
I have found the best way to learn about being a leader is to look at my leaders. Whether they are doing well or doing poorly there is something to learn from them.
If I have a leader I am not motivated by I look at what it is they do, or don't do, that makes me feel that way. In other words I try to learn from their mistakes.
When I encounter a leader who impresses me I look at their actions and try to copy them. I use them as my role model.
To be successful in SFI, what attributes do you need the people on your team to have?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
One of the many beauties of the SFI business is that there is no single skill set or personality type required to succeed. There is scope for people who are good at face-to-face communication, internet marketing wizards, sales people and recruiting gurus; and there is opportunity for people who aren't brilliant at any of these but are willing to work and learn.
In my opinion the key attributes then are:
- willingness to learn
- willingness to share
- persistence
- patience.

What was it that made you realize that SFI is the real deal?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
The key points for me were:
1. There is no pressure to spend money.
2. There are no outrageous claims or promises.
3. A clear process is set out for you to follow.
4. There are real products to sell.
5. My sponsors both made contact soon after I joined.
6. The “Ask SC” and “Forum” pages provide a real sense of community, and
7. It has existed for 18 years – an eternity in internet time.
I have participated in a number of online and offline businesses, some MLM and other types. SFI has the best feel I have encountered yet.

What's the best way to learn how to become a successful online entrepreneur?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
There is a huge amount of information available on becoming an internet entrepreneur. There are books, blogs and websites a plenty all offering the key to success. Probably the hardest part is determining which ones have the real key.
I think the best way is to look to emulate someone who you know is successful. Look to the leaders in your genealogy, identify someone who has achieved what you want to achieve and copy them. Contact them and ask them directly "How did you do it? What should I do?"
Duplication works both ways.

What is the difference between working hard...and working SMART in SFI? How do I make sure I'm in the second group?
Affiliate since: 10/07/2015, Power Rank: 99999999
The key to working SMART is to avoid reinventing the wheel. SFI provides a wonderful range of resources to use across all aspects of the business - use them. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you need to develop a new approach.
Secondly don't be afraid to ask for help form your sponsors. Learn form their experience rather than trying to do it all yourself.
