* You would retire from SFI only when you are unable to work due to old age or health issues. SFI is not a job but our own business.
* When you start preparing for retirement you set long term targets for yourself and plan strategies to achieve those targets. In the absense of targets you won't be able to achieve what you have wished for.
* You prepare a succession plan and accordingly at an appropriate time start getting the heir familiar with the business. As a responsible Team Leader we would not like to create vacuum at the top when we retire and leave new members (down line) direction-less for any period of time.

Should a person go for the rank of Team Leader if they don't yet have a team?

Hello Waleed,
Thank you for the question.
Yes; a person should definitely go for the rank of Team Leader even if they don't have a team. Leadership is all about goals, determination and success.
However, this condition will only arise when one is going for Team Leader in the first month of joining SFI and has not yet sponsored any affiliate. By becoming Team Leader, one gets shares of Second Home CSAs and thus a team under him/her is created. Also there are many ways of getting PSAs; depending upon suitability one can form a team. Becoming a Team Leader will help one learn and practice leadership skills and become a true leader.
Generally: First month, when an affiliate becomes EA; gets 2 CSA. Next month, when the affiliate becomes EA2, gets 2 more CSA. So the affiliate already has a team of 4 CSA under him/her before becoming BTL. This way, the SFI program provides the platform/team to develop one's leadership skills for the rank of Team Leader. By becoming BTL one gets 1 share of Second Home CSAs, this helps in growing team faster. One would have (and should have) been sponsoring from second month. This is what affiliate learns when they graduate as EA from SFI. By the end of third month, the affiliate would have sponsored at least some PSAs and so would be having a team of PSAs and CSAs when going for BTL.
Be confident, become a Team Leader, set example for others, help team members and grow your business.

Should I advise new PSAs to slow down and not qualify as Team Leaders so quickly?

Good question Sandra.
My view is, advising new PSAs to slow down might demotivate them rather we should motivate them to take additional actions (highlight the significance of team building) in the way to becoming a true Team Leaders. And we should leave on them to decide the pace with which they would like to build their business.
