For me, its two things:
1. Team Motivation and Enthusiasm
2. A fair Reward System
If you have been an employee for a good number of years in any commercial organization, you would understand the importance of these two points stated above. Let me continue by going through some questions.
How does the Manager or President of an organization instill drive on his employees in order to achieve the corporate goals of the organization as well as his personal goals? How does a business owner make his staff see the vision that he saw when he established the organization in the first place? Finally, why are there reward systems in organizations ranging from rewards like "Employee of The Month" up to rewards like a "Long Service Award"?
Until we begin to see the SFI opportunity as a business like any other, we will not be able to understand how to create workers out of your team and also, how to keep those workers in your team.
Begin by passing your enthusiasm about the prospects of this business to these new psas. Most times, I tell my new psas my predictions on the future of SFI as well as my plans and PRACTICAL steps towards achieving those plans. I let them see the BIG PICTURE, just the same way the CEO of an organization lets his management team see where his vision on the business will take him too. Permit me to say that at some point in your SFI business, you need to learn the power of delivering PRACTICAL motivational speeches to your team in other to keep them in the loop on where they are actually heading to with this business. I put that "PRACTICAL" in capital letters as I wanted you to understand that your statements have to be tasks that can be done by practically anybody who isn't a vegetable and not a Super Human person. If your speeches become so abstract, they would never see the big picture and will keep assuming that this isn't something that can be done practically. For example, I tell my team that my vision is to get quality businesses from my country to sign up with Tripleclicks as ECAs. In order to achieve this, I am working actively in establishing a Logistics company which will easily facilitate enrollment of ECAs from Nigeria since they know that they have my services in getting their products delivered to their customers promptly. I build their minds on this vision and work with that. Another thing I try to instill in them is a recruitment drive which I call "Team 1000". The idea is that if I can get just 1000 EAs, both CSAs and PSAs, doing 1500VP every month down to 6 levels deep, i can have just a little over $900 monthly excluding commissions and other earning channels. So i tell them to work on this page gathering both CSAs and PSAs, and sooner than later, they will see their dreams come to pass. The moral of the matter is this: Pass PRACTICAL messages to your team as well as your new psas too.
Finally, create a reward system. Learn to give back to your team for the efforts to put in towards making you successful. That's the reason why some organizations reward their staff with shares in the company and even share some of their annual profit with their staff. If you become to greedy and keep all profits to yourself, you may end up having disgruntled workers in your team which in turn, discourages your new and intending psas from working with you. The Advertising Coop is one way. You can also give your team and target with cash rewards attached. Everyone loves a little cash here and there. If you have local people as your active team members, you can put a vacation reward or a lovely cash price at the end of the year for your very active team members. No doubt, you are spreading enthusiasm and motivation around the team. Therefore, when you inform your new psas of these enticing rewards, they would surely get working as soon as they can with your support, no doubt.
Keep working. All these suggestions can't be implemented at once but start small and grow from there.
Cheers To Greatness!!!
