It is possible that this sponsor was just allocated without consulting you as happens with affiliates who sign up at the general SFI page (www.sfimg.com) or using S-builder co-op.
To get a good start open the SFI affiliate centre by using your browser to find www.sfimg.com. Read the alert messages. Open the tab called 'to-do-list' and learn and take action. Open launch pad in upper right corner read the lessons and answer review questions.
Anything which is not clear ask your co-sponsor or other upline members.
If English is not your main language translate to your main language as appropriate.

SFI unlike other home businesses is very resourceful and as a team leader one is expected to know this.
Any information will be too much if it is outside of the limits below:
Sticking to the theme 'How can I help you?' without any indication of selfishness. Just indicate you care and are available to help. Your e-mails should say this loudly and clearly.
Your 2-4 times monthly newsletter should also stick to the theme "I'm here to help you or "I'm working hard so that you can succeed" as you keep in touch with your downlines with helpful tips, lessons and ideas.
Encouragement given to affiliates as affiliates receive your gift certificates just say one thing ' I want to succeed'
If you find yourself stressed because you have to give a lot of information then just know that such information has exceeded the limits.

What do you do with affiliates who never do anything--despite your constant encouragement and offers of support?

One would do well to establish good rapport and contact with their CSAs or PSAs. This would help to find out what is happening with the affiliates.
They could be sick or having their hands full during this period. May be they have no access to IT facilities or they have been in power blackout for 2 months. They may be cash strapped.
Please ask affiliates if it is ok to contact them by phone from the very first contact.
This will help to establish what is going on.
