What is the best way to build a TEAM--with true team spirit--in SFI?

Great Question, I have read a ton of these answers and their all great but nobody mentioned the biggest Key.. You need to make people feel like they are a part of something.. A real part of the team. Even your least experienced can surprise you with a great idea or some great input to one of YOUR ideas.. Plus its just human nature to want to be a part of something. Giving incentives is all and good but that in my opinion is not enough to get you the "team spirit" mentality your talking about. You want your members to feel like they have a say. To feel as though they are invaluable each in their own way. Praise their strengths and help them with their weaknesses and they will love you for it.. They will become loyal to the team and loyal to you the leader.. but you have to put the team and its members FIRST, ahead of yourself... The true spirit of Sfi.. And it just so happens with SFI.. when they succeed and do better.. SO DO YOU..

What kind of rewards have proven to be the most effective for you for getting inactive affiliates active?

First off I would like to remind you that SFI recommeds you to spend most of your time "Working with your Workers". These are the people you want to concentrate the bulk of your time developing. Now as it pertains to inactive affiliates. There could be a plethera of reasons why they are inactive, from money, to just being a complete lazy pants. Most of the members who are not working the program, will never work the program, no matter how much you encourage.. However, I would send out some feelers and see what is holding them back from being more active. If its a money issue and you truly believe that they will be more active with some help, offer them some incentives like gift certificates, Extra VP's, CSA's, ETC. BUT, I would make sure they prove they are going to get moving by not missing daily points and aquiring all the training points. AT least then you know they are willing to put in the effort but really dont have the money to set up S.O.'s and Sbuilders and such. Also every once in a while its good to create a contest for those who have not aquired EA and offer prizes for those who do so in the very next month. Small fires can go a big way.. but like i said.. remember to work with your workers and not spend too much time trying to turn the sceptics and lazy ones.. This is a go getter entrepreneur business and it requires attention!! You will know who wants it and who thinks they should have it given to them...

What are the key areas or general factors to consider when advertising your gateways to get good results?

I would just like to start with. Always add a tracker to your ads so you can measure the success of each ad and tweak them as necessary.
That being said, There are some very important things an ad should always have.. 1, your contact information and links to your gateway should be visible in many places on your ads, 2 good content that gets you readers interested whether it be great pics, a video, or plain old text ads. make it interesting and direct it toward your selected audience, also keep it nice and simple and dont reveal tooo much. Make them curious to go further. 3 IN the case of a money making program, The compensation plan is a must!! show how many awesome ways to make money the company offers. people want to know how they are going to make money. 4 Brand yourself, people want to buy from someone they know and trust, even when it comes to the free sign ups, people would rather go through someone they trust. ok now that you have finished your ad copy be sure to TRACK it!! Now that its time to put your ad out consider your budget and stick to it. Be social and create relationships, remember its about quality sign ups not quantity. Gool luck in all your ventures and i hope this helps!!

How do you use the information in your Genealogy about the VP your affiliates (individually and collectively) have generated?

This is an amazing tool. It tells you who is doing well in your downline and who is struggling or possibly losing interest. It can also tell you what kind of matching points to expect if you are a team leader. This is a great way to know who you need to give some personal attention to and who to give praise and reward for being a mover. Mailing both individually and collectively is important. sometimes that extra message showing you care can turn someone into a mover for you. This tool should be used lots throughout the month. Keep active in your downlines life at SFI!!

Has anyone tried the paid Facebook advertising and, if so, did it work/was it was worth the cost?

I find your not really going to be making a good investment. most of the people on facebook already know what they are going on for and i know I for one never pay attentio to ads of facebook. I would continue to post and use whatever free means such as creating a fan page and such but My opinion is dont waste your money of facebook ads.
Roger B
if you looking to build your list use safelists and mailers and get emails sent to targeted visitors and you can find tons of free credits to get extra exposure.. there are an abundance of these sites.. build your own list and you will do much better.

How do I encourage my affiliates to set up a Standing Order?

SFI is centered around being an easy program and that is what most people want when they sign up to a free and easy to use program. The first step is to obviously have a standing order of your own; people aren't going to follow what your saying if you haven't done it yourself.
Second, explain how much easier this makes their program, i.e. they can take more time to learn the program and accumulate their points because they are guaranteed to make the pay pool every month, I then would also tell them that if THEY don't have one it will be more difficult to convince their affiliates that it is truly important.
And finally I would refer them to a few of the really awesome offers like the 100 TCredits for 29 dollars or IAHBE for 32 and say "Hey, how many business do you think can run for 30 bucks a month or less?? You need to make them understand that it is a real business and like any business you have to invest some money to make it work, if you don't invest in yourself, do you think anyone else will??

What is the best way to help my affiliates who can't afford to purchase anything?

Make sure they know about the bonus points when they sign up. If they are serious about the business and put in the time you will see it. It is very possible for these affiliates to get through the first two months free. I did. I am currently on my third so we'll see. Also Make sure they realize they can use bonus free tcredits and mrp's to purchase ebooks and gain information AND vp's. On top of that the new gift cards are an amazing tool for you to get them motivated and teach them to pay it forward as well. affiliates get them for about 99 cents and they are 12 dollar value cards. If you have the means to throw them a bone. do so. they may really need it and i know i would have been so grateful. When you have the ambition and time to get things moving but not the knowledge, direction, or means to make it happen it really hurts. You know as well as i do sooner or later your going to have to put back into your business. give them a boost. whats a few bucks if they turn into a big mover for you...

When communicating with my downline, is it best to use the SFI email utility or my own email? What is the most effective?

I believe the SFI mailer system is the absolute best way to go. Not only do you get 30VP's a week for using your CSA, PSA,and geneology mailers but you can fully customize which groups or people you want which messages to go to.
You can always use your affiliate mail center to send group or personal messages. However, If you think that an affiliate may not be logging into SFI to do his/her daily points and training then this is when I would step into using a private mail service such as gmail or yahoo to show some added care and concern, because if they aren't logging in they won't ever get your messages of motivation. So if someone needs a push, show them some personal attention by personally emailing them at their regular email address. This is also a good option when sending them links or html as you cannot just click links in the SFI mailer. Be sure to explain this to newer affiliates.
Do make sure to use your Affiliate mailer center for regular scheduled communications to keep your team motivated and moving, also to get your vp's. As your Downline increases to more and more affiliates this will save you more and more time and you will appreciate it more and more.
So To conclude I believe they both are important to use for different reasons and try to keep team mailers and weekly motivation letters or what not to the SFI mailer and the more personal and direct messages to their regular emails.

I know I should work with the workers, but how many follow-up messages should I send to inactive CSAs/PSAs before giving up on them?

I believe there is only one case when you should give up on someone and that is if they opt out in which case you would then be spamming them. You do NOT want to get the reputation of being a spammer. You never know what is going on in the other persons life. Keep at it as long as they will keep accepting your emails. Maybe your persistence will show them how you want them to succeed and maybe that changes their mind into becoming active. Bottom line, it is so easy to just include them in your team mailers so just do so. worst case they dont read it and ignore you best case you manage to light a fire and get them going. Stay positive and just remember, if you get a no just move on the the next person who IS ready to change their lives.

Why do so many people join SFI and then do nothing...and what should I do about this?

A lot of people sign up and look around because it is free. many of them are newbies that just get overwhelmed and just don't know what to do. Others are looking for a get rich quick scheme and realize this is a legit learning tool and business builder and they may have to work at it...."OH NOO" ha ha.
To fix this I would try and target your ads more to people looking for a real opportunity to "work" online and you should get higher quality leads. its okay though if you get inactive members. you can use them as well. gain points by using them to send team mailers to in the beginning and later you can transfer them to referrals so they can receive those 30 point right away as well. its a huge help to new people to get those extra points when building and on top of it you get a few points for the transfer..everybody wins.. also never give up on them just keep including them in your mailers. You never know if they may read one and jar some entrepreneurial juices loose.. regardless SFI makes then useful even if they are inactive. dont forget after you transfer them they are still in your downline so if they ever become active they are still under you. wishing you all well Roger B
