Hi Diana
When someone joins SFI they are involved with their own 'Start-Up' business. The only difference is they have been provided with the tools, training (SFI Affiliate Centre) and the retail outlet (Tripleclicks).
Any new 'Start-Up' is going to need enthusiasm and investment.
Success is achieved through matching your income with your level of enthusiasm. Imagine a line chart with two lines, one is blue and shows the level of enthusiasm, the other is red and shows the level of income.
In the beginning a team member's enthusiasm line should be high (because they have a great opportunity with SFI) and their income line low (because they are investing their time and funds).
The enthusiasm level should be kept high, even when they can see that they are investing more than they are receiving.
As time passes the income line will increase and climb towards the enthusiasm level. Now they see that they are making more income and making a profit. The enthusiasm line goes up again which will then drag the income line up.
This will only happen if enthusiasm is maintained through clear goals, sponsor support and determination.
Unfortunately most people lose their enthusiasm and never see the increase in profits. They give up and look for other sources of income, only to do exactly the same thing again. It is a repeating cycle for many people, and many businesses and that is why the number of truly successful people is so low.
My suggestion is to try and help your team members' to keep their enthusiasm level high by rewarding them, recognising their achievements and supporting them when they need your help. Keep in contact with them regularly and show them your own enthusiasm.
If they say they are going to quit they have lost their enthusiasm. Show them your own enthusiasm and ask them what you need to do for them to help them get their enthusiasm back.
You are still going to get some team members quitting. Working your own business is not for everyone. Thank them for their time, tell them you will still be here if they decide to return and keep working with your workers. They are the enthusiastic ones who are going to persist.
Thank you and may you have an enthusiastic day.
