Your downline should be part of your customer segment, so it is essential to promote your ECA store to them in a professional and selfless way. However, it is not sufficient to promote your store to your downline, but that you need to have attractive, competitive and useful products and services. You may promote your ECA store to your downline by sending messages on specific important and attractive aspects like the following:

1. Transfer buying

Inform and educate them on the merits of transfer buying and include the link to your store or links of specific products you think people usually need in your team mails. Let them know it is more beneficial to buy here than where they usually purchase outside of TC at no added cost to their budgets. Be very professional to include the possibility that they can shop around and do not make it look like you are mandating them to buy from your store

2. Promotion and team building products

Most affiliates like to promote their businesses and build active teams, so you need to highlight the importance of promoting their businesses and team building in your regular contact with them. Direct them to any products or services you may have in your store that will do these for them. Always remember to inform them of the freedom to shop around if they like and my experience shows that people like to deal with those they know, so you have an advantage here over your competitors as far as your team is concerned, provided you are competitive.

3. Offers and hot deals

This may sound strange and self serving but I think the first set of people to inform about any offers and hot deals should be your downline. Promotion message here may include ".....I value you most and so I am giving you the first chance to take advantage of this offer before others get to take it....." The promotion of offers draws attention to your store and may have the potential of generating additional revenue from products or services that are not in offer.

In conclusion, you may also need to occasionally update your products to include the needs and desire of your team, for example you may opt to become a prolific and scrupulous supplier of signups, traffics etc for the sake of your team.

I think both are very different in purpose and function and it is like comparing apples and oranges, but one may support the other.

The main function of your SFI co-op is for the distribution of signups to participants of the co-op, who are also your PSAs, while the purpose is for team building.

On the other hand, the main function of a blog is to create awareness either for yourself or your business, so you are either publishing your business as in your case or publishing your self. So depending on how you want your blog to function, blog can be used to promote your SFI business by using it to generate signups, and to train, guide and support the members of your team.

As you can see from the above, SFI co-op and Blog are different, but you can use your blog to support the success of your SFI co-op if you decide to direct all or some of the signups generated by your blog to your SFI co-op.

Having said that, the one that provides the most value will depend on how you want to run each. If you intend for your blog to be for recruitment, training and support of your team, then it obviously provides more value than SFI co-op. This is because SFI co-op does not generates signups by itself, but just a receiver. More so, a co-op cannot perform other functions a blog does.

You may do without the co-op if you like any way, because the signups you may generate from your blog can also be directed to members of your team by reassignments.

To conclude, I am not suggesting that a co-op should be dispensable, but that there are other ways to direct signups to your team without it because its only function is distribution.

Relationship is the way in which two or more people or things are connected, on this basis I will attempt to assess your relationship with SFI and TripleClicks as a promotional strategy to attract prospects by telling them that:


1. SFI creates the platform and provides the structure for you to build your own business, including training materials. This means that the initial cost of setting up your business and some overhead costs associated with the continuous running of your business are avoided. In this regard, your relationship with SFI is not worker-employee, but partner-business or business-2-business (B2B). This type of relationship makes you your own boss, so you work at your own pace, develop your independent business strategy and make your own investment decisions.

2. However, as typical of a two way relationship, your are expected to:

- play by the rules, by respecting and faithfully complying with the tenets of the Affiliate Agreement

-promote SFI in such a way as to attract quality affiliates by building an active downline

-Encouraging duplication in your team, by encouraging, guiding and assisting your team to emulate your success.

3. TripleClicks (TC) is where the actual e-commerce takes place, where you can sell your goods and services, while at the same time you can buy the goods and services of other members, including those of TC. Again, TC provides the platform where e-commerce is transacted, so all you need is to register and list your products and services. TC takes care of order processing and payments, while you just deliver. So you are related to TC just as a shop owner is related to the owners of a shopping mall, except you do not pay some of the expenses associated with a physical store in a mall.

However, a customer-seller relationship exists when you buy TC or ECA products and services because you are treated with dignity and respect of a customer, but with other benefits as an affiliate.

4. As mentioned before in a 2 way relationship TC also expects you to:

- Obey the rules of engagement.

- promote TC and other sellers product and services

- encourage your downline to engage in transfer buying

- desist from behaviours and activities that will bring the reputation of TC to disrepute.

In conclusion, I will add that relationships with SFI and TC are dynamic and there is no one way to establish or define these relationship, but it depends on the type of relationship individuals want to exercise within the broader business framework and opportunities.

It is often the case that some affiliates arbitrarily rate their sponsor without due diligence or an appropriate metric for measuring the performance, or otherwise of their sponsors. It is important to consider your rating in light of these in order to be seen to be fair in you rating.

Below are some suggestions in order to give an unbiased rating to your sponsor:

1. Do you receive timely and consistent helpful messages from your sponsor and not just messages designed to only earn him/her 30 VP for weekly messages.

2. Does your sponsor reply your request for assistance and inquiries on a timely manner? Please note that a reply offering solutions or explaining the reasons he/she cannot render assistance or offer solutions is enough.

3. Does your sponsor treat your as a partner, subordinate or a worker?

4. Does he give you tips on how to be successful in building your SFI business?

5. Does he/she acknowledge your hard work and encourage you when you are in despair?

6. Does he/she lead by example? I mean does he/she advise you to do what he is not doing or does he/she encourages you to follow his successful lead and where necessary show you how to duplicate his/her successes?

7. Is he/she capable of or incapacitated from being active and a helpful sponsor? Please learn to bear with your sponsor who does not possess the wherewithal, regarding what you expect from him/her.

8. Do his/her intentions have a semblance of cross solicitation or an honest endeavour on his/her part to guide you selflessly?

9. Kindly rate your sponsor in accordance with his/her capabilities and not your expectations, otherwise you will be 'judging’ him/her unfairly.

10. Always have it at the back of your mind that it is your job to make your SFI business terrific and not his/hers.

In conclusion, rating should be done conscientiously and faithfully, not just based on arbitrary 'judgement' and assumptions; otherwise you will be doing a disservice to your sponsor and to your conscience.

In this type of business, all tools are important in building an overall successful SFI business. This is true because they are there for you to use and if some are not important, I do not think SFI will be investing a lot of resources to put them out there.

However, the importance of any tool or the best tool for any individual will depend on your objectives and goals as far as building your SFI business is concerned. In this regard, what will be my best tool will not necessarily be for another, so this is why we have variety to choose from in accordance with your business plan and strategy.

Personally, I have tried most tools and still trying to use as much as I can in order to avail of the benefits of their applications. For example, at the moment I am more determined to build a very successful team of active member and as a consequence of this, I am currently engaged with tools pertinent to sponsoring and duplication.

The reason for this temporal strategy is because of my believe that my team members are my best TC customers, the possibility of getting some of them to register as ECAs and to avail of the opportunity of earning residual and leverage income. It looks all embracing for me, however, it could be the opposite for another affiliate who may want to build a team of SFI affiliates via TC and ECA signups because of the believe that they can be converted from their TC/ECA membership status to SFI affiliates which is possibly true also.

As you can see, there is no one size fits all tool, but a case of out of the abundance of water you are not supposed to be thirsty, so draw a plan, established goals and take actions to achieve your objectives going forward; this is how you will determine the best and appropriate tool to deploy.

Finally, also note that objectives, goal and courses of action are not sacrosanct but dynamic, so it is important to tweak them in order to meet current challenges and be competitive as much as possible; these are also inevitable factor to consider when choosing your best tool. As they often say, money is not everything but it makes a lot of difference in the business world, including SFI. However, lack of it is not synonymous with failure because there is still a lot you can do here to get by without money. As a sponsor, there are 2 aspects I will expect you to assist your team members who have no investment fund; the DO’s by them and the DO’s by you.

The DO’s by them:

1. Direct them to advertise in free ad sites for SFI (PSAs), TC (PRM) and ECA signups, including face-to-face prospecting and prospecting their warm market. Emphasise the promotion TC products using these methods and if they are lucky, the necessary VP for maintaining at least an EA status may be earned, coupled with possible direct commission that may be invested in their SFI business.

2. Encourage and guide them to participate in TripleClicks (TC) member listing in order to raise some cash to fund their SFI businesses. It is just a Tcredit per listing, so they may be able to afford it if they receive some free tcredits from the actions in #3 below.

3. Encourage and guide them to participate in all free or cheap to play EZ games to win various prizes like Tcredits which they can use to bolster some aspects of their business.
4. You may show them how to surf in traffic exchanges to accumulate credits which they can use to place their respective SFI gateways in rotation.

DO’s by you:

1. You may give them free participation in your co-op to generate signups to build their businesses. You have to ensure this is not a free for all assistance, but for those who show signs of interest and hard work irrespective of financial obscurity.

2. You may directly place their urls in your advertising media including your website or blog if necessary.

3. You may also use the reassignment tool to place some of your PSAs under any of these team members without cash, provided they are promising. The PSAs you will reassign should be those who have the potential to generate direct commission for them which they can invest in their SFI businesses.

4. You may issue Gift Certificates (GC) to them and ensure they use it to purchase products that will enhance their SFI businesses and not waste it on cosmetic or unnecessary things. This GC may be very handy to those who have the potential of becoming ECAs but lack the basic requirements to qualify, then a $40 GC will help. However, you are not going to also be sending a couple of GCs for shipment of the goods they sell before they are paid, so you may initially look for those who can sell e-products for the time being to avoid shipping costs.

5. Send then Tcredits to boost some aspect of their business like for member listing, playing EZ games etc

In conclusion, please do not do for them what they can do for themselves and this is why my answer is in 2 parts because you will duplicate laziness which will back fire big time. Also, whatever you are doing for them directly should not be a permanent strategy of yours, but to prepare them to eventually be capable physically, mentally, and financially to run their show themselves.

There are various materials in your To-Do-List (TDL) that are pertinent to building your SFI business, unfortunately you may not be aware of this but instead you may see it as just clicking away the tabs for 1 VP each. This may be the major reason you see it as a waste of time, but if you concentrate and take some moment to click on some links that teach you how to carrying out certain aspects of the business, like sales, sponsoring and referrals, then you will realise that your TDL offers more than you think.

Below are some benefits of carrying out the actions on your TDL:

1. It tends to warm you up and settles you down as you open your office to commence the day's job

2. It reminds you to send messages to your downline, does not let you lose sight of the fact that you need to work on your T-Connect page and act as a conduit to stream with your a2a friends and connected ECAs

3. It contains meaningful information on how to generate sales, sponsor affiliates, signup TC members and ECAs.

4 It reminds you of the benefits of being a good leader by spelling out the VP you can earn from supporting your team

5. Some aspects of it serves as an audit, regarding the VP you have earned and those waiting to be earned.

6. If you are still in E365 Finalists running, then a minimum of 10 VP daily actions earns you an entry in the Finalist draws

7. Think also about the importance of your VP Streak Badge, it could be gone or seriously diminished in value if you don't do your daily actions, so what impression will your team members have about your seriousness and commitment in SFI? Think about it !

As you can see, apart from the benefits above, you will in addition be earning the daily VP, so how can this exercise be a waste of time? It will only be a waste of time to the extent you allow it to go to waste. Again, have you thought of the reason several PTLs and some DTLs take their TDL seriously? It is because they know the value for duplication purposes and benefits in keeping their eyes on the ball.

To build a successful SFI business, everything counts, so do not major in waste, instead manage every little drop that will eventually become a mighty ocean, because an opportunity lost by missing a VP from daily action can never be regained.

The main issue with garage sales is the ability to drive useful traffic to your T-connect page and other affiliates T-connect page in order to increase the chances of sales. Another important factor is to go for attractive products instead of promoting the entire T-connect page.

You see, when you promote these T-connect pages or individual product listing, you are prospecting for Personal Referred Members (PRM), in case some of your prospects signup as TC members, so you are growing your TC business. Again, when your referred TC members convert to SFI, they become your PSAs and you are also building or growing your downline.

Your garage sales bring forth cash which you can re-invest to grow your SFI/TC business. The extent to which you use this to grow your business will depend on your efforts, your success in return and your ability to duplicate this deep into your downline.

Remember, your garage sales in your T-connect page is like operating a website, so to speak, so ensure you take the listing seriously and professionally, in order to make it attractive and appealing when prospects come visiting. This is because the more attractive and appealing it is the more time visitors may want to spend going through your listing, and the more time they spend, the more chance you could pull it off.

In my opinion, the most over rated activity is the daily actions. The daily actions do not seem to achieve the purpose for which they are designed. This is no fault of SFI anyway but the lack of interest shown by some affiliates, to adequately utilise the very essence they are intend to serve.

Some of my affiliates for example, ask questions on how to go about performing certain actions to earn the VPs allocated. Surprisingly, the answer to their question stares them in their faces, right on their homepage. This means that, there is no willingness on their part to go through available materials, but believe in clicking off the points.

The most under rated activity is the power of knowledge, which comes through reading, and the power of persuasive inquiry. I recognise that internet awareness,the level of formal education and language can constitute various levels of obstacles to affiliates who want to seek this knowledge. However, there should be more emphases on the benefits of reading and understanding as a prerequisite for success in any business, including SFI.

Personally, I am just a month in SFI and my level of understanding of this business is surprising to some of my PSAs. This is so because I read a lot.

I labour seriously to impact this way of thought on my PSAs, while at the same time emphasising my quest for more knowledge to them. I read everything SFI throws out; tips of SFI great affiliates and high achievers. I also go through all daily forum and ASK SC questions and answers while also contributing. In one of such adventures, I stumbled unto an article by 2 top enrollers on the benefits of Autoresponders. I am presently studying this to see how I can benefit, regarding advertisement.

In conclusion, affiliates should be encouraged to seek knowledge, even as you mentor them and this should be brought to the front burner. Create the awareness that knowledge facilitates success, and once you are knowledgeable, every other addition is a bonus.
