The best incentive of all is that SFI is free to join and all of its training material is freely available to its members. That means you can assure your prospects that they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by joining your team.

Another good incentive to encourage people to join your team is to let them know that you will be there to guide them every step of the way. Since most people don't know anything about online marketing, it must be quite a daunting prospect for them, but if they know they can count on you, they may be more willing to give it a try.

Finally, one of the best incentives would be to offer your most promising prospects a place in your co-op once they reach EA2, so that they can begin to build their own team of affiliates. As soon as they understand SFI's 3-Step plan, they will realize how fortunate they are to have found such a generous and helpful sponsor.

I have been reading all the great answers to this question, and I agree with my fellow affiliates that SFI provides more than enough material for newcomers to begin their marketing efforts, especially if their focus is going to be on referring customers to TripleClicks.

They have many products and advertising options to choose from to achieve their goals, especially if they use the Marketing Methods for Beginners in the Marketing Center. They can use these methods almost as soon as they join SFI.

However, if newcomers to SFI also wish to focus on recruiting affiliates, I believe any of the recruiting methods available for beginners will be helpful as long as they are accompanied by a healthy dose of knowledge. Why? Because if new affiliates don't know how to explain what SFI has to offer before they recommend it to others, it will be harder for them to get the response they are looking for.

In this case, it is not enough for them to simply use the talking points about SFI or copy some of the advertising examples SFI provides; they need to be able to grasp the concept behind these talking points and advertising examples. Isn't that what the first month at SFI is for? To get an in-depth understanding about what this wonderful company has to offer?

New affiliates need to experience for themselves how SFI works and take the time to learn how and what to offer before they begin their advertising campaigns, so that they can convey their confidence in and passion for SFI to their future recruits, whether in person, on social media sites, or in any number of online or offline marketing options.

What is the use of recruiting someone new to their team if they don't know how to guide this new member? Too many new affiliates lack the necessary knowledge to help new members reach their goals. This makes duplication harder to achieve. Knowledge + SFI's great marketing methods should help overcome this tendency.

I would think the playing field is more than fair for someone who is new to SFI.

Over the past 16 years SFI has perfected and refined its training methods so that anyone can learn how to participate in this business and become successful at it, as long as he or she is willing to invest enough time and effort.

SFI is a living, breathing entity that continually reshapes and adapts to the trends of the market and the needs of its members, which means it's quite possible that those of us who have been here less time have more advantages than our SFI veterans did when they first started out. Nowadays, we have more efficient tools to work with and the results can be more immediate and spectacular.

Moreover, if ever there was a place where newcomers are not only welcome but also nurtured and supported, it is SFI. Don't worry, there isn't any cut-throat competition going on here… except maybe in the auctions, ha ha!

On the contrary, It is in everybody's best interest to help you succeed, because when you succeed, we all succeed! So check out the ASK SC section for answers and ask for help in the Forum, from your a2a friends and from your up-line (your sponsor and co-sponsors). They will all help you 'level that playing field'.

You can only ensure duplication if the affiliates you sponsor are willing to learn and apply what they learn. Few will, but those who show even a spark of interest are the ones you need to focus on and spend more time with, in order to teach them how and why duplication works.

Duplication is an easy enough concept to understand, but in practice it takes some work and a bit of luck, which is why your role as a teacher and adviser is so important. You will need to explain the basics and benefits of duplication to your active affiliates and point out the different methods they can use to find affiliates of their own.

You'll also need to keep them motivated and focused, because it may take some time for them to find active affiliates. In order to do this, you can suggest they review the compensation plan and benefits chart to make sure they know how important it is to maintain their EA rank.

You can also suggest they visit the earnings calculator to see what sort of money they can earn when they finally find active affiliates of their own. Let them discover for themselves how lucrative having an active team can be. In short, do your utmost to convince them that they will eventually be able to find their own active affiliates, just as you found them.

Once they finally have one or more active affiliates of their own, remind them that it is now their turn to take on the role of teacher. They can still count on you, but it is important that they begin to teach their new affiliates what they have learned, so that the duplication process can continue.

The only time I would suggest you transfer TCredits to someone in your downline is if they are very active and you see they still need a few extra action VP to maintain their rank at the end of the month. They will surely appreciate them and will put them to good use by bidding on an auction at TripleClicks thereby gaining those extra action points.

In that case, you will both be gratified by your gesture and you will earn the gratitude and respect you deserve for being such an awesome sponsor.

In any other case, I wouldn't recommend giving your downline any TCredits. I really don't see much benefit for you personally. Let me tell you why:

If they are totally inactive they won't know what they are or how to use them and probably won't even acknowledge they received them;

If they are semi-active or only log into SFI sporadically, chances are they have been to TripleClicks but haven't really bothered to learn about the benefits of having TCredits;

If they are sufficiently active, they already know about the free TCredits they can win at the T-Time and PTP contests. Instead of giving them a few TCredits, remind them to participate in those contests. They will probably end up winning a whole lot more TCredits than you would have been able to give.

Also, let us not forget that SFI already gives out free TCredits every month to motivate and reward those who maintain their rank, so they are essentially doing that for you and your active downline precisely so that you don't have to.

Why don't YOU use them instead. Bid in auctions to earn extra VP for a bigger share in the Executive Pool, or set them aside for when someone accepts your offer to list their first garage sale item for free on TripleClicks.

Of course, if you are swimming in TCredits and truly feel the need to give some away, I am most happy to help you, ha ha!

You don't have to be a natural born leader to become a Team Leader at SFI. Anyone can learn to be a leader here, because in this specific circumstance, the word 'leader' is really a synonym for adviser, guide, mentor, coach or teacher.

We are all blessed with one or more of these qualities, even though we may not realize it, because it is in our nature to want to help or advise the people around us, especially those we appreciate and respect.

Proof of this is in the way we interact with our friends and families as well as others who are an important part of our lives. We have a tendency to give advice (many times unsolicited) when we feel someone needs guidance; or we insist on sharing an interesting fact or a personal experience when we think it can help improve somebody's life.

Therefore, all you need to do here at SFI is continue to do what comes natural to you, although now you'll do it with strangers, so try to get to know the members of your team and their individual needs. Once they realize that you are ready and willing to help them reach their goals, they will open up to you and follow your advice.

Make sure you understand the basic guidelines of what to do and what not to do as an SFI Team Leader, by learning "How to be an Awesome Sponsor", then add your personal touch each time you communicate with your affiliates. I assure you, if you do this, you will become a great leader!

And remember: it doesn't matter if you're a newcomer at SFI. You will still have been here longer than any of your new PSAs or CSAs, so you will always have something new and important to share with them.

It is always worthwhile to send regular supportive emails or PSA/CSA Mailers to everyone on your team, including those who generate 0 VP. They are your leads and as long as they do not opt out, your job is to let them know how they can benefit from this wonderful business opportunity.

Do not get discouraged! You never know who may get inspired by one of your messages. There are many examples of high-ranking SFI affiliates who took a long time to get started and then went on to become Gold or Platinum Team Leaders.

So do not inundate your inactive affiliates with too many messages, but do not let them forget you either. Continue to send useful information and make sure the contents are interesting and cheerful. Give them a taste of what they are missing by highlighting your achievements and those of other team members.

You never know… when the circumstances are right, maybe a few of your inactive members will finally be ready to commit; they may even turn out to be some of your most active affiliates, so do not give up on them.

I think it all depends on what kind of business you have here at SFI. I'm sure there must be some areas where it is feasible, and you will surely receive many useful answers from affiliates who practice this way of doing business.

The only thing I can contribute to your question is this: I am assuming that part of your business includes building a team of affiliates. If so, I don't think it would be very practical to run this portion of your business on autopilot. These are real live individuals with different needs and concerns, who will very likely require your personal attention and advice when you least expect it.

The whole premise of nurturing a team of affiliates is to be available to respond to their questions or help them solve any problems they face at SFI. If you want to build a good relationship with your affiliates and get them to know and trust you, you need to show them that you are a real person who strives to do whatever it takes to help them, not someone who sends an automatic newsletter once or twice a week.

The first thing I stress when I contact a prospect or a new affiliate is that if they want to succeed at SFI, they must be willing to invest some time into learning about the business. I tell them that free does not mean a free ride: they have to work if they want to earn money. That usually separates the 'wheat from the chaff'.

I explain that SFI is a serious business, and like any other business, they can't just sit back and expect money to start rolling in. For every action there is a reaction, so if they work, they will earn money; if they don't work, they certainly won't get fired since they are now their own boss, but they won't earn any money either.

I also tell them that starting an online business at SFI can be just as gratifying and rewarding as a regular business, but without all the start-up costs and hassle of a regular business. The time they save in commuting to and from their office can now be better spent on conducting their SFI business from the comfort of their home.

All they need to start earning money at SFI is a willingness to learn the SFI Basics: Become and remain an Executive Affiliate each month by Accumulating 1,500 VP; generate sales by referring potential customers to TripleClicks; and maximize their income through sponsoring and duplication.

I let them know that SFI has all the information and tools they need to make their business a success, but like any other undertaking, they must be willing to sacrifice some of their valuable time in order to get something equally valuable in return.

I believe you should try to achieve both goals: teach your active EAs to develop their own teams and continue to sponsor hundreds of affiliates. This is why:

If you already have a small number of active EAs you can teach them to duplicate your actions until you feel they are ready to take on greater responsibilities. Once they show their commitment, you can reward them by transferring some of your active affiliates to their team so that they can become Team Leaders and reap the benefits of their new rank. Having active EAs on their team will also motivate them to find and develop more EAs of their own.

Turning your active EAs into Team Leaders not only motivates them, it also gives you the freedom to continue sponsoring hundreds of new PSAs, among which you will very likely find more active EAs. Depending on the commitment of these new EAs, you can decide which ones have the ability to become Team Leaders and which ones should be reassigned or transferred to one of your top Team Leaders.

The ultimate aim is to grow your team as much as possible and then channel your resources in order to motivate and reward the few who show the most promise.
