In doing marketing, specially for beginners I would always advice to do the kind of marketing that would suit your personality. I have two reason for this:

1. You will not be stressed and actually enjoy your marketing efforts.

2. It will be more natural to your prospective affiliates and to you. It will add authenticity to your marketing efforts. Remember SFI is authentic.

So here is my advice for the best marketing for beginners according to the two basic personalities:

1. For Shy introvert type:
Sending E-Cards to your relatives and friends is best, because you are first sieving out those who are interested and you will not be hesitant to talk about SFI because they are already asking.

2. For more aggressive extrovert type:
Tell your friends and family to sign up as SFI affiliates. - You can do these either through face to face conversation or by email or chatting and sending direct messages.

You probably observed that in both personality I choose relatives and friends as your first audience. They are the best audience because in my genealogy, 70% of my active affiliates are my friends and relatives. Simply because of the trust that has been there since we knew each other.

Now, if for whatever reason, the trust is not present, go to other people in social media.

Let me enumerate all the possible income streams we have here at SFI so that we can identify which one are coming from (in)active affiliates and (doubtful) customers in our TripleClicks store, and see if we still have options left to be successful in our SFI business.

Here are our potential sources of income from SFI

1. 45% of commission value (CV) from the purchases of your Personally Sponsored Affiliates. (PSA) - You can not earn this if all your affiliates are inactive.

2. 45% of commission value (CV) from the purchases of your Personally referred members (PRM) - You can not earn this if your prospective customers are doubtful and are not buying.

3. 15% of commission value (CV) from the purchases of your Co-Sponsored Affiliates (CSA)- You can not earn this if your CSA are inactive also.

4. Share from the Executive Pool which is 40% of the commission value (CV) earned company-wide. - You can only have very minimal share if you don't have affiliates and downline who are turning EA2.

5. 10% of the commission value (CV) of all the sales of your E-Commerce Affiliates (ECA) as royalty. - You can have this if you can bring people to sell at TripleClicks.

6. You can have your online store and sell your products for free.- This is your big potential if you have good products. You can sell it to all SFI affiliates not necessary your own.

7. You can sell your unwanted stuff at home. - You can also have this even if your affiliates are in inactive.

8. You can earn by directing sign-ups to the site, if they do activities, called SFI pay per action program (SFIPPA)- This may not work also if the people you recruit are also inactive.

9. You can receive thousands of rewards in doing certain tasks. - You can have this even if you have inactive affiliates.

10. You can win thousands of prices by joining contest and draws. - You can also have this even if you hav inactive affiliates.

11. You can save up to 99% on gadgets through auction. - This has big potential if you learn the art of bidding. You can sell what you won with big profit margin.

As I have enumerated there are still many earning faucets that we can explore BUT NEVER GIVE IN to the idea that you will not have active affiliates someday. The reality is they are still our major source of income here at SFI.

You just need time and patience to continue to find them. Remember we only need 5 to 10 active affiliates to build our SFI business. Embrace the fact that only 1 to 5 percent of your affiliates will be active. So, play with that number and persevere while you are exploring the other income steams.

My Choice is Day 4 - Marketing = Money

Some of us who are now enjoying the fruit of our labor will agree that what made us earn income eventually are our active affiliates. We found our active affiliates not in very easy way. We study, we try and experimented all sort of advertising before we get out active affiliates.

As SFI affiliates our top priority is marketing. It's quite difficult or even impossible to earn good income here at SFI if we don't do marketing. Some just got stock on earning VP only and soon realized that it wont get them any further.

You probably mean Fear of not being successful, because many would love to be successful.

The best way to help our members to get past through this fear is to let them experience small steps that they could accomplish.

SFI has many small steps of achievements, you can see this on the badges awarded to us everytime we achieve something. Start with the easiest badge like daily versa points streak badge, then the a2a member badge. Then let them join the daily grands until they win and wear the DG badge.

Then you move to the more challenging badges like being a fast tracker member and the rank badges.

Aside from earning the badges you can also start challenging them to recruit 1 or 2 affiliates in one week. Then it is important to reward them for what they have done that you ask them to do.

These small successes will give them confidence and will thirst for more successes.

I am glad that more and more affiliates are starting to see the big role of a personal SFI website/blog in our quest to find affiliates.

This necessity came when major social media websites started to detect SFI links as spamming. This is because of so many SFI affiliates are promoting their links indiscriminately.

Personal SFI website/blog is not only for promotion in social media but also good for search engine optimization where we can have free traffic who are looking for online opportunities.

Other sponsors are using their personal SFI site for encouraging their affiliates. They put their strategies there and invite their affiliates to read it.

Now what is the best and least expensive way to have this website? The good news is you can have one starting from FREE up to the most expensive website you like.

The free ones are from free blog hosting like bloggers.com - you can set it up in five minutes and immediately start posting.

They key however to have a professional looking website in these free blog hosting is you know how to modify the page format including the favicon (the small icon you see in your browser when you open the site).

To make this even more professional, you buy a domain name (about $10 per year) with .com and link your site in blogger to that domain name. You don't have to pay monthly web hosting to have a professional looking dot(.)com website.

I hope that the suggestion above will solve the cost of having a personal SFI website.

To have a good website (whether its free or not) is to have a quality content. The content is still the one given big weight by any search engine. So concentrate in giving quality original content. It should have value to the people who will read it.

Here is my suggestion to bring out quality content in your website.

1. Study all the aspects of SFI and TripleClicks business model.

2. Have a list of all the topics you would like to cover.

3. List 3 to five keywords for each topic in your list.

4. Explain the keywords in paragraph form.

5. Look and include 1 picture in your write-up.

The simple rule is this; put you SFI gateway in you ads link where it is possible and put your webpage/blog link in your ads if SFI gateway is NOT possible.

We need to shorten the number of clicks and steps for our prospects before he could reach the sign up form page, because its very difficult to get those who read our ads to make a single click and you double it if you have two clicks to make.

On direct ads with SFI gateway, we only need to craft one good ads. Usually it should present the best features of SFI, they expect it when they click the link.

There are websites however, that does not accept our SFI gateways like Facebook. These is where our webpage/blog will play a very important role. Facebook is still the richest source of free affiliates, therefore we need to find ways to bring them to SFI sign up page by all means.

We do it by two steps(clicks) rule. From Facebook to our webpage/blog then from our blog to SFI sign-up page.

In this method We will need two sets of ads to craft well to make this effective.

1. From Facebook to your webpage/blog - the primary aim for this ads is to put them "to want to discover something".

2. From your webpage/blog to SFI sign up page - the primary aim is to point them "to where they can discover it"

Make this two a continuous flow of discovering something. so make them connected and not separate idea.

We have two general ways to advertise our SFI business. Paid and Free. Nevertheless, both cost us something, one is money and the other one is time. It is therefore appropriate to ask how can we be effective in both.

Effectiveness is getting good result but we also must concern with getting result at least cost, which is efficiency. So here are some ways of effective and efficient advertising.

1. Go After Your Target Audience

Generally our audience are those who are looking for earning opportunities online. For offline advertising, examine your network of relationships, (friends, acquaintances and relatives)and list down down the people who are keen on earning online or network marketing, specially those who have tried buying or paid online. Talk to them about SFI opportunities.

The same way in online advertising, find the same people in social media websites like FB and twitter. Just type in the search bar the correct keywords and you will end up in a group of people who are keen or currently doing online earning activities.

For paid ads, you also go to the sites where people are earning online, like PTC's. Honestly, testing is necessary and do not confine your self to one site immediately.

2. Highlight the Competitive Advantage of SFI in two to three lines.

You must know SFI business model very well to come up with good ads line. It should highlight SFI's advantages against other online program. Example of which is "it's free to join", "been here for 14+ years", "multiple streams of income"

3. Keep seeking. - Never put all your efforts in just one site or method, keep on trying what will work and once you find it, take advantage of it but keep on seeking for more.

4. Match your ads with your Gateway. We are given several gateways that we can use for advertising https://www.sfimg.com/MyAccount/GatewayList. Use the most appropriate gateway for your ads. Example, if your ads is about great savings in buying gadgets, you must use the pricebender's gateway.

5. Monitor Your Ads. Put monitoring in place for every ads that you launch, how many clicks and how many actually signed-up. and compute the cost per sign-up.

I am recently become an ECA and I am brainstorming with the same question. I came up with few success factors that I want to share.

1. Product -

If we don't have have product yet to sell, we must look for product that are easily available in our place and repackage it to suit TripleClicks Store.

Another product and services that is worth considering are those that are related in SFI business. Example, if you know how to make website then offer that service.

If we already have products to sell what we need to consider is the packaging that would suit the TripleClicks's business environment.

2. Price -

Our price must be competitive specially if there are same product and services offered in Tripleclicks. We can have high price on something that is unique and we don't have competition.

3. Shipment -

We must consider the shipment of our product, its cost and ways to ship our products. Its the reason why many are resulting to selling downloadable items.

We need to consider seriously selling only to our own country if we are selling physical products because shipping them abroad will cost more than the item.

4. Advertising -

We must constantly advertising our products and services within SFI, we can do this through a2a friends, through stream and messages. Prepare an ads for every item you sell in TripleClicks and send them to your contact at SFI.

I hope everyone of us can see the relevance of this question, because all of us are trying very hard to find someone to sign-up affiliates.

Think about our efforts and investment just to have one sign-up!! Now we have someone who has signed-up but for some reason is not able to continue and now we call them dormant.

We should be able to see the potentials of our so called dormant affiliates. They are already one step ahead and they are within our reach compared to our prospective affiliates who still in limbo and need a lot of efforts and investment in order to find them.

For these reasons, I spend time in contacting my dormant affiliates and trying my best to keep them active. Here are few things that I used to get in-touch with them and engage them them at least in conversation.

1. I use their email address to contact them. - You do not send message to your dormant affiliates inside SFI because they can read it if they don't log-in, it why they are dormant.

2. I write them personal email not inflated kind of talking. I tell them my struggles with my SFI business and small successes I have. In other words I tell them what is real and not a fairytale SFI. My purpose is to know what are their own reason why they do not continue with their SFI business. Once i know the reason then I know how to help.

3. I write them several times but not too close interval - people do not respond to stranger's email at once. So I write them at least 5 personal email aside from my weekly general messages for all. I give update with my own progress and struggles with SFI. In addition I am trying to guess their reason for not continuing with SFI. Of course its not very difficult to guess because there are only few common reasons. I discuss these reasons one by one with suggestions on how to overcome them in my follow-up personal emails.

Among the reasons are:
a) They found SFI overwhelming. and they don't understand system.
b) They think SFI as 'get rich quick' program. And don't see the potentials of SFI.
c) They don't have money to buy from TripleClicks or if they have they find it difficult to so.
d) They don't have time- which is actually related to any reasons above. Of course all of us don't have time on something that we think non-sense.
e) They feel that SFI is not for them - Which is true, SFI is not for everybody, for this last reason i usually encourage them to log in one more time and opt-out. I teach them how to opt-out. In my experience, that's the time that they take a serious second look at SFI hehehehe.

4. I take efforts in finding them in Face Book and Skype using their email address and names and Engage them into conversation.

What is the rate of success of engaging them into conversation? In my case it's approximately 1 out of 10.

After these efforts and still no answer neither they opt-out, I just keep them and receive my weekly general message.

Link cloaking is a method of hiding the real URL and replaced it with shorter and more prettier URL. This is practice by many internet marketers. So in general, it is used for the advantage of the marketers. The drawbacks are on the owner of the affiliate program.

Link cloaking is done online, through websites who are offering this service either free or paid depending on the quality of cloaking you want. Or you can do it by a software.

The draw back of using a software are:

1. Often it contains additional ads embedded in the software.

2. There are reports that your affiliates ID are changed, by thieves.

3. There are reports that generated URL do not work properly.

Be sure to check these drawbacks before using the link cloaking software.

As I said Link cloacking is used for the advantage of the affiliates.Affiliates, practice link cloaking for a number of reasons:

1. It’s a consumer-friendly if you use URL about the product you are selling.

2. To hide the affiliate’s identity. affiliate links conotes earning commission from the readers so its a big turn off for them to click.

3. To protect against commission hijacking.

4. To boost quality search engine score for affiliate page.

5. Tracking: It is easier for the affiliate to track clicks and visitors when using its own URL.

The disadvantages is on the owner of the affiliate program because, When affiliates cloak their URLs a problem can arise for the owner who are trying to keep track on where and how their affiliates are advertising. Cloaking makes it harder to determine the source of the traffic, and to view the affiliate’s ID in the URL string.

SFI however use the ID number+keycode to track visitors. So, I don't hear prohibiting its affiliates to use cloaking.
