While I can understand people being leery after getting scammed and even after simply failing in a good opportunity I spend little time focused on their past.
I ask them if they think a bad day yesterday means more bad days ahead? The answer is typically no.
I ask them do you think people in general are bad and want to take advantage of you? Again they tend to say no.
I ask them if they believe there are some legit companies out there that people are making money with? A few say no but most concede that they do still have high hopes even if they are a bit gun shy.
I ask them if I can share some details about a company with a 16 year track record that is part of a larger company with 28 years in network marketing and has been a Bronze member of the Better Business Bureau for 14 years. Most will say yes some will need a different date or time, and some will say not at this time. I focus on the yes crowd.
I will start by telling them the following:
In every business that is solid and successful you must have a product physical or virtual that is highly sought after, preferably consumable, and fairly priced. The last piece of the puzzle is where many MLM and Network Marketing companies lose people because those big, fancy, and often confusing pay plans take a lot of money to run. If a company focuses too much on the pay plan the product is no longer a value at it's price and the company will eventually face legal issues.
This is way so many network marketing and MLM companies fail. They get so focused on binary commissions and diamond bonus overrides that the product becomes so expensive that the only people buying in are the ones who are blinded by the pay plan and the fancy words of their sponsor. Once a sales business becomes more about the money than it is about product sales and you have to pay to play you suddenly have a Pyramid Scheme also called Ponzi scam or HYIP (High Yield Investment Pool) and the feds will shut you down.
