Most people do not respond well to criticism, even if it is considered constructive by the person offering it. It would therefore be much better if you offer support and advice, rather than criticism.
You have to remember that you are working with a team of grown-up people. Each is building his/her own business and most probably won't take kindly to being criticized.
I know how frustrating it is when you see people not doing everything they can to succeed. The urge to criticize (hoping this will inspire them to do better) is strong, but it usually has the opposite effect. On the other hand, if you use examples of what you do to achieve results, they might follow your lead.
For instance, if you notice that a member of the team is not logging in daily and therefore not earning their VersaPoints, you could send them an e-card with a message like this:
Hi Name
Hope you are doing well and all is good on the home front. You've been a bit scarce lately, so thought I'll just check in.
I recently went through a patch where I hardly had time to brush my teeth, never mind log in to SFI, so I know how difficult it can be.
I was considering just skipping it for a few days, but then sanity prevailed. I didn't want to lose any of those precious VP's or my daily streak badge. Another motivation was that I didn't want to lose my class position on the Leaderboard.
So I just got up 15 minutes earlier every day!
Now my VP's are growing nicely, I have my badge and my class position is even stronger. To top it all, my earnings are growing nicely too ….
Please let me know what I can do to help or even if you just want to chat.
By doing this, you offer support without having to criticize. Your team mate realizes that you also have challenges, but are willing to make the necessary sacrifices for success.
Hope this helps!
Good luck with your SFI business.
