To overcome your personal limitations and roadblocks, you first need to identify what they are!
And you have to be honest with yourself as they are not always obvious. Our limitations and roadblocks to success often come from personal fears and level of motivation.
Practical limitations are the first things we can identify, such as:
* Knowledge
- Where do I start?
- How does the SFI program work?
- How do I build a website?
- How do I promote products online?
- How do I build my team?
* Finances
- How much money do I need?
- How do I find the finance I need?
- How can I do this if my budget is limited?
However, I won't answer these questions directly here as I don't believe these are the real obstacles. All of the answers to these questions can be found within the SFI website and from your sponsor/co-sponsor/colleagues within SFI. You want to know HOW to conquer these limitations. The only limitation here is the level of your own willingness to read and learn.
The real question you should ask is "What's stopping you from succeeding?".
The practical aspects of success can almost always be overcome, by anyone! Just look around you - there are millions of people every day, all around the world, who are conquering limitations and obstacles. The practicalities are almost superficial, in comparison to the internal barriers we have built up against success.
The real path to success, complete with roadblocks, comes from within you.
For me, when I began with SFI, the first roadblock I decided to overcome was COMMITMENT!
I knew nothing about the program, or how to market online, but one of the first things I noticed from watching the Start video and reading some of the Launchpad lessons was that it involved doing daily tasks and learning a little every day. It wasn't clear to me immediately how I was going to make money, but I committed to giving it a month, and learning as much as I could each day. By the end of the month, even though I admit to finding it challenging some days as I didn't always understand everything, I had learned so much and I realised that it was the daily routine which had helped enormously. I realised that this was a big issue for me - committing to a daily routine - and the fact that SFI has this inbuilt to the program is of great benefit. It takes 30 days to develop a new habit and sure enough, after 30 days, SFI was a habit I had grown to enjoy. Within 3 months, it became almost an addiction, but a good one, I can't imagine my day without SFI now.
Along with commitment, come PERSISTENCE, and PATIENCE. Know that success won't happen overnight, and be prepared to put the time and work in now, firmly believing in the success that will come to you and grow in the future.
COMMUNICATION is another key aspect many need to develop. Gone are the days of imagining that working online from home is a solitary venture. You actually need to be SOCIABLE to have an impact now, as social media is one of your most important traffic generators. Also, people are very wary of online ventures and are looking for something or someone to give them confidence in the program. People are more likely to join your venture when they Know, Like and Trust you (known as KLT or the 'Attraction marketing' model).
When you have your team, you also need to be a good communicator in order to be a good leader. Begin developing your communication skills by ASKING and ANSWERING questions, in the Forum, in Ask SC. Initiate contact with your team members. Write your weekly newsletters. Contact your team members regularly. Be friendly, approachable, interested.
Don't be afraid to reach out for help and advice when you need it too, rather than giving up. Nobody learned their trade completely on their own, and online business is no different. Many people have a personal limitation of not asking for help because of a fear of rejection. Well, within SFI you have many others willing to help you, so learn to ask and gratefully receive this help.
On the subject of fear of rejection, you can learn to accept some rejection as just a part of everyday life, nothing to fear. When your downline are not active, realise this is really not your problem, as long as you are doing what you need to do as their sponsor. Think of it like a shop or store, many people enter the door to have a browse around but do not buy. They may come back at another time, they may not. Do not take it personally.
On the subject of FINANCE, you can learn to PRIORITISE!
Many people think that if an online business costs anything at all, it must be a scam. This is the biggest myth ever! Just because 'FREE' is the most over-used word in marketing, it has created this monster of a culture that think everything is free. But this is a business, and you have to spend some money to make money. SFI gives so much for free, but if you want to develop a business mentality you have to realise that some expense will be involved.
You can learn to BUDGET, learn what is important to invest in, and find a way to release these funds elsewhere in your life to enable it, e.g. people may say they cannot afford to spend $36/month on their online business but will willingly have a takeaway lunch or buy expensive coffees every day.
You don't even have to have a SO with SFI, it is not compulsory, but even spending a small amount, less than $20/year, on your own domain name or website will be a big help to your business, yet many are reluctant to do this, then wonder why they are not getting anywhere.
I guess most of this adds up to learning how to think like a real business person, in order to become a real business person. SFI shows you how to do this, all the help and advice is here, all the tools are here. You have access to the guidance of many team leaders in SFI in the forum. It's only down to you how much you read, ask, listen and learn.
I believe that developing your personal skills and qualities is most important as they are what help you to overcome the practicalities.
