You can get your affiliates engaged and conversing regularly with you by: sending them a personal welcome letter as soon as they are assigned as your downline. Let them know that you are there for them and they can contact you if they have any questions. You can also give them your e-mail address for further contact. you can also send out a weekly mailer through SFI`s genealogy mailer.
you can also use SFI`s online chat. When you click on your movers tab you will know if any of your downline members are online. A yellow bubble will indicate if an affiliate is online. You can click on the bubble and follow the instructions to start a conversation with an affiliate.
You can also engage your affiliates through skype and facebook. If you are there for your affiliates in these ways then they will most certainly duplicate your actions and converse regularly with you as well as their affiliates.

I almost gave up on SFI. What did you do to keep pushing forward?

In order not to keep pushing forward in SFI one needs the mindset that SFI is not a get rich scheme but a business that one has to invest time and money in in order to be successful. If an affiliate is mindful of this fact then he will continue to push forward even when he does not see a big commission in the initial stages.
Secondly one has to enjoy doing the business. When you wake up each day and have that drive to attend to your business then you will keep pushing forward. You will want to find out what new messages you have, if you won the Daily Grand draw or if you won any TCredits on T-Time hourly draw. These are motivational factors that keeps me going.
Thirdly when you visit the forum then you are motivated to keep pushing forward. Many times you will find affiliates sharing inspirational stories or sharing inspirational quotes. There have also been times when some affiliates say that they feel like giving up and other affiliates will encourage them and help them to push forward.
These are some of the things that help me to push forward.

In order to get your downline members to participate in your team contests you need to make the contest attractive so that members will want to participate. Prizes should be attractive as well because everyone looks forward to winning something worthwhile from a contest.
You should also make your affiliates aware of the rules of the contest so that in the end no one will feel cheated because they were not aware of the rules.
You should also promote your contest by using all the various avenues provided. You can place it on you blog, use team mail, SFI Chat, email, CSA and PSA mailer Skype, facebook and any other available medium. In doing this none of your downline will be left out because if they do not see the contest promotion in one place they will see it in another.

It is very important to create duplication in your SFI business because you want your important workers to follow in our footsteps. In creating duplication you need at least 5 Personally sponsored affiliates who are committed to their task and who will make at least EA each moth. When this happens and then they will follow your example and recruit at least 5 good PSAs then your downline will grow and you will start earning a good residual income.
In order to create duplication one has to lead by example and affiliates can see the type of sponsor you are based on your communication with them as well as the number of badges that you sport on your SFI homepage.

Is SFI good for students (18 or older)? Why or why not?

I believe that SFI is good for students (18 or older). Since SFI is free to join then there is no risk at all in joining. I know that these students may find it difficult to find the money monthly to set up a standing order but they can perhaps find a few dollars dollars to qualify as EA after earning the maximum VPs on their daily and weekly tasks.
Students are generally internet savvy and therefore they will do well in marketing. If they are able to recruit new affiliates then they will be able to earn, and will therefore be able to move up in their ranks.
They will also be to become more independent as they build their business. I will therefore recommend that students 18 or older join SFI.

It can be a good idea to reassign your PSA to someone in their own country. Persons in the same country usually speak the same language and are aware of the culture of that country. Hence it will be much easier to communicate with each other.
It is however important to ensure that this person is committed to SFI and will do all in his power to ensure that this affiliate will continue on the path to success. You do not want your PSA to opt out or give up on SFI because their newly reassigned sponsor is not a good team leader. It can be a good idea but first you have to weigh the pros and cons. You could also try to get some feedback from your PSA if he would like to be reassigned to someone from his country.

3. You get a chance to bid for PSA's or CSA's and these can build your downline. You could find yourselves with hundreds or thousands of affiliates this way.
You can also become a part of S Builder Co-op. For just $22 per month you can get a share of PSA's. Someone does the advertising for you and new members are then added to your downline.
