Direction: Without even the smallest of goals, it is easy to feel as though we lack direction or are lost. Having goals focuses our energy, and enables us to work towards something we value. When we feel as though we are floundering or aren’t quite sure where life is going, setting goals can help us get back on course.
Individual Purpose: Goals, whether big or small, are vitally important to giving us individuality and purpose. Goals can be personal, social, political…anything that you find important to you and your life. Goals are individual to you and your needs, wishes, desires and dreams, and so, YOU drive what they should be. They make you who you are and allow you to be who and what you want to be. No one can take that away from you.
Boosting Self-Esteem: Without goals we don’t have accomplishments. Every time you set a goal and reach it, you prove to yourself that you are capable of achieving what you set out to achieve. This results in a natural boost to our self-esteem and a deeper belief in oneself.
Positive Reinforcement: When we accomplish our goals, we reinforce our belief in ourselves to set and accomplish new ones. This helps to muffle negativity, doubt and fear, making way for a “can do” attitude that helps us continue to strive.
To Reach our Full Potential: Goals enable us to move beyond our comfort zone and become the best we can be. They allow us to take-on new

Wonderful question. Many of us look at leadership through a followers eyes. This is because most of went to a school where we were taught to be followers.
As SFI business owners we need to look at it a different way.
One of the main things we all need to develop is being 'Teachable'. This may sound strange when referring to leadership but all good leaders remain 'teachable'.
What is 'teachable'? It is keeping an open mind to advice and knowledge. To always seek more knowledge from other leaders. To learn from our followers and never discount their point of view or questions as insignificant.
A good leader NEVER knows too much. A good leader reads, reads and reads some more and continues to build knowledge in his or her selected field.
A good leader then passes this information onto his or her followers. NEVER does a good leader keep important knowledge to themselves and gives it freely and with love.
A good leader never feels bad or hurt if one of his or her followers achieves more than themselves. They feel good because they have played a part in the followers success.
A good leader associates with leaders and has a burning desire for knowledge that they can pass onto their followers.
YOU are a leader because YOU are reading this. Because YOU are seeking knowledge that YOU can pass onto your PSAs and CSAs.
Stay 'teachable' and NEVER think that you already know it all. That is the beginning of apathy, and apathy will create failure.
