How can being an SFI affiliate change your life?

I think this is a great question. As I was thinking about how my life has changed since I joined SFI, I realized that there was many positive changes but I honestly could not think of even negative change. I would like to list some of ways that joining SFI has improved my life.
1. I have gained knowledge. My sponsor told me that studying the materials provided free of charge by SFI would benefit me, not only in succeeding in SFI but in other areas of my life as well.
2. I have gained self-confidence. Each time that I have learned something new or achieved a goal that I set for myself, it has increased my confidence which in turn has lead me to setting higher goals. I think that the badges are a great idea because the badges are tangible proof of the goals achieved.
3. I have gained friends. One of the best things about SFI are the people who make up the SFI family. Each of us wants to succeed and be the best but we also want everyone who is a part of SFI to be just as successful. Yes, there is friendly competition but there is also support and encouragement. If you have a problem or a question that needs answering, just head to the forum and you will find experienced affiliates willing to help!
4. I have gained discipline. By doing my to-do list everyday, I learned that each small step leads to bigger things. It has been over two years since I have missed a day.
5. I have learned from my mistakes. I have the best sponsor who has taught me that a mistake is not a failure if you learn from it and don't keep repeating it.
6. I have fun! There is so much that I love about SFI. The first thing that I do each day is to grab a cup of coffee and my iPad and log in. There have been many exciting new things going on in SFI this year, most of which I love. Even though I take my SFI business seriously and want to be the best at what I do, I find that I have fun doing it. I enjoy the games and the auctions but I also enjoy the work as well.
I am thankful that I found SFI and I am looking forward to a successful future!

What would be a good 'elevator pitch' for SFI?
Jenny Bolin, Aff (South carolina, US)

Affiliate since: 03/17/2012, Power Rank: 99999999
Thank you for the interesting question. I will be honest. If a total stranger started pitching something to me in an elevator, I would not pay him/her any attention and get off the elevator as fast as I possibly could!
How ever if you are wearing your SFI pin and the person asks you about it, they are beginning the conversation and would be willing to listen. Tell them about what a great opportunity SFI is and that it is free to join. Have a card ready to give them. Always be polite and be prepared to answer their questions.

How do I get my new affiliates to understand and go Fast-Track with the new Fast-Track Extensions program?

Your question is a bit confusing because the new Fast-Track Extensions program is not for new affiliates but for is an opportunity for older members who missed out on Fast-Track the first time. I am one of those members. When the opportunity presented itself again during the restructuring, I wasn't able to set up a standing order, so I went Silver Fast-Track. The day I read the message about the New Fast-Track Extension, I contacted my sponsor and I went Gold Fast-Track that very day!
What are the best ways to encourage my downline members to participate in Pricebenders auctions?

I think one of the best ways to encourage my downline to participate in Pricebinder auctions is to set an example for them by my participation in the auctions. No one wants to listen to a leader who tells their downline, "Do as I say, not as I do!"
The next important thing is reassure them that even if they don't win the auction, they are not a loser because they receive valuable vp and mrp for each bid. Then with each bid, they also have the reward of the Bid and Win spins. This will help them grow their downline at no more cost to them.
The last thing that I emphasize is that they will never win if they don't participate. I encourage them to watch several auctions and see what strategy the winners use. I also encourage them to plan ahead and set a limit to the TCredits they are willing to use for the auction because it is very easy to get caught up in the bidding and overbid. I also tell them it may take some time to win their first auction so don't lose heart and give up on the auctions too soon!

How can I learn to be a good Team Leader for my group?
Jenny Bolin, Aff (South carolina, US)

Thank you for your question because it is one that we must ask ourselves if we want to succeed in SFI.
I think that the first requirement of being a team leader is to set a good example for our team to follow. SFI makes it easy to see our accomplishments by the badges on our page but these same badges also shows us the areas that need work. Never ask your team to do anything that you are not willing to do. Set the standard high for yourself and when your team sees that you are achieving your goals, they will follow.
I think that the second requirement of being a good team leader is to be a good reader. You have to read all the communications from SFI so that you will have the facts that you need to make decisions that affect you and your team. That is the reason SFI sends the newsletters and emails and that is the reason that you read them. There have been a lot of changes in SFI lately and you need up-to-date information in order to keep up with them.
The next requirement is to have good communication with your team. Each team leader chooses the method of communication that works best for his/her team. You have to make sure that whatever means of communication that you select is checked often so that you can respond promptly to your members needs. You also need to share the latest news in your stream posts.
The main job of being a good leader is to LEAD! I remember one piece of advice that I was given was that if you are a leader you must lead or you must get out of the way so that someone can.

What can/should I do differently in 2016 to see that my affiliates become active in SFI?

Thank you for this question because I think that this is probably the thing that most of us asked ourselves when we were making our plans for 2016. I really wish that there would be an easy solution but if there is, I haven't found it yet.
Because I want to build my team, I decided that an honest assessment of 2015 and what I tried that worked and what I tried that didn't work was my first priority. The only way not to repeat mistakes is to learn from them and I do have a lot to learn. I am working on my welcome message so that it will show the changes that have occurred in the last few months. I think that these changes are awesome and should provide incentive for them to stay active in SFI. I tell them that there has never been a better time to become an affiliate because of the great new programs offered.
I am trying to improve my communication skills so that I can be a better leader. It doesn't matter how much I know and learn if I don't have the ability to convey that knowledge to my team.

I think that the best way get someone interested in becoming an SFI affiliate is to be an enthusiastic SFI affiliate your selfish. Enthusiasm is catching! What are 5-10 top statements I can provide to prospects to convince them that they should join SFI?

Here are my top statements:
1. SFI has been in business for 17 years. The company has gown in during a large downturn in our economy. It has a proven track record.
2. It has good leadership. Mr. Gerry Carson founded SFI and is still at the helm. He is a very hands on leader. He is willing to listen to his affiliates and still participates in the forum. How many other leaders do that?
3. SFI provides the materials that an affiliate needs to succeed free of change. No other company does this. It is also possible to succeed without spending money although it requires dedication.
4. SFI is always working to improve and continues to make changes that help its affiliates to meet their goals. When I joined SFI, I was not a person who liked a lot of changes but now I look forward to seeing what changes come next!
5. It is global so as an affiliate I can learn about other cultures and make new friends.
6. I am my own boss and set my own pace. My success or failure depends on me.
7. I can enjoy the auctions and the games.
8. There is always someone willing to help you with a problem. You have a sponsor and a co-sponsor to offer help and support but you also have experienced affiliates who are willing to help answer questions in the forum. You can send a ticket to support when you have a problem and work on the problem until you satisfied.
These a just a few of the reasons that I am glad that I became an affiliate of SFI. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner!

How do you build a team where everyone knows they are valued members and part of something special?

Thank you for your question because it made me think and that is the purpose of a good question. Before you can build a team where everyone knows that they are valued members and are part of something special, you must feel that YOU are a valued member of SFI and know that as an affiliate of SFI that You are part of something special. Thanks to my awesome sponsor, I do know that I am valued and appreciated but what happens if you don't have a good sponsor or co sponsor? Then it may be harder but you are still a valued affiliate of a great company. How many other company leaders check the Forum or really cares what the members are concerned about and are willing to answer your questions? When you became an affiliate, there was no charge for the lessons to teach you everything that you needed to know to start your own business and then you can take advantage of the free tools and resources to make your business a success! Are you feeling special yet?
There are so many ways that SFI shows us that we as affiliates are important to them and so many ways that we in return can show our own team members that they are valued by us as leaders. I really do think that as an affiliate of SFI that I am part of something special.

How can I help the Movers on my team move up to the next level?
Jenny Bolin, Aff (South carolina, US)
11/18/2015 12:56 pm
Affiliate since: 03/17/2012, Power Rank: 99999999
Thank you for your question. I think one of the best ways to help the Movers on my team move up to the next level is by first setting a good example for them. No one wants to be told, "Do as I say, not as I do!" First make sure that you are taking care of your business. Lead the way by doing the best job that you can.
The next thing that I would suggest doing is to make sure that you offer praise and encouragement for a job well done. It makes us feel good about ourselves when we reach goals that we set for ourselves and it is icing on the cake when others praise us for our achievements.
The next thing that I would recommend is that if you see your team member making a mistake, don't criticize him/her but explain the reasons that make you feel that it is a mistake. You must always remember that you are not the boss and never try to give a team member orders because you are equal affiliates. It is his/her business and their decision to make. I emphasize that a mistake can be a good thing if you are willing to learn from it and not repeat it. Never let words. "I told you so!" be said in any way. That is the best way to lose a team member!
Be the best leader that you can be! Sometimes that means to listen to your team because being a good leader means knowing what your team needs and providing it!
