An important thing to do is acquire a downline with whom you can work to grow everyone's team. No team, nothing to lead. Try PSAs to go, or at least 1 unit of S-Builder Coop.
Then, the most important thing is communication. Set things up so your newbies right away see your letter of greeting, and support. Always let them know you are there to help them succeed. Ensure often that they all have your email, or telephone for closer by affiliates.
In your contact, always be polite. Treat your affiliates with the courtesy you would like to receive. Contact them routinely at least once a week (CSAs as well as PSAs), and monitor their progress by checking their VP Ledger to see if they have missed anything, or make suggestions about what they may want to do to help themselves. Do not TELL them they have to do something, suggest it in a friendly way. They, too, are in business for themselves, just like you and I are.
If you have affiliates who seem to be struggling, contact them a little more often. Not necessarily daily, but maybe twice/week instead of just once.
If they send you a question, answer them as soon as you can. Best if you learn answer, then direct them on where to find their answer. They will remember it better if they participate in finding it. Ben Franklin said it best: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn"!
I suggest making all your downline members aware that they are welcome anytime to contact you for help. When you check your movers tab, or genealogy, if someone seems to have slowed some, shoot them an encouraging e-Card. When they are doing well, send them an e-Card. You might be surprised how much they are appreciated!!
