How do I encourage my affiliates to set up a Standing Order?

First of all, be an example to your affiliates by setting up a Standing Order yourself. Second, show your affiliates in your emails how a Standing Order helps them reach EA and Team Leader status every month without having to worry about ordering their products each month. The beauty of the Standing Order is that you can order products eligible for Standing Orders at reduced rates. An IAHBE membership, TCredits, S-Builder Co-Op shares and other items offered at TripleClicks, such as vitamin/mineral supplements, Per Java or Herba Green Tea makes for an excellent choice or set of choices. You could technically make sales from purchasing cases of various items and selling them for the regular price (or whatever you choose) and make a profit. There are so many imaginative ways to work with Standing Orders. Just use your imagination and help your affiliates do the same.

I know I should work with the workers, but how many follow-up messages should I send to inactive CSAs/PSAs before giving up on them?

Never, ever give up on any affiliate! We cannot know the circumstances of affiliates under which they join. With a lot of encouragement, affiliates just might be reached who seem to be inactive or don't care. Some don't understand how this business concept works. Some are impatient, thinking they will get paid large sums of money immediately. Some just don't have the ability through sickness, poverty, disaster or something else. The only reason you would give up on an affiliate is if they request to opt out or they use obscene language in their response or some inappropriate email, which, you would send to Support and allow them to deal with, as the affiliate would be violating SFI rules.

What's the best way to get new affiliates going on doing their daily tasks on a regular basis?

First of all, be sure to send a welcome message to all new affiliates. Then be sure to keep in touch with all your downline using the mailers provided by SFI. Second, perform all the activities you would have your affiliates do; they need to learn by example. Keep in touch with them and offer your help and answer questions you receive as soon as possible. Third, be sure to offer affiliates incentives like co-op shares or gift certificates or TCredits or reassignments. Show them how important it is for them to gain VP and MRP and TCredits to get more VP and why the more VP equals higher commissions. Always make sure that your affiliates know that they don't have to know everything or learn everything in one day. They should go at their own pace; but they should keep moving and log in every day and do these tasks.

I want to start doing Pay-Per-Click advertising. What do I need to know before I get started?

The most important thing you should know about this type of advertising is that you have to consider a budget and be careful not to spend over that. You could pay out so much that you would be impoverished if you are not careful and it is risky because some of these may not work. To be honest, I would rather work with advertising co-ops I know are working and put in my funds with others to join what I know works, such as the S-Builder co-op. There are other ones that affiliates have that do work, and I would join them rather than doing PPCs. It's your choice, however, and if this works for you, then I would go for it!

How have you used SFI's Live Chat (the yellow bubbles that appear in the Genealogy, etc.) to your benefit?

I have not used Live Chat much because when I have tried, it was after the affiliate was no longer there and he really was searching for me. I think it's a great idea, but really need reminder when affiliate is on so I can reach him while online.
SFI's LaunchPad training provides great information and inspiration. Which of the 30 lessons is the most meaningful to YOU, and why?

To be honest with you, every Launchpad lessson is vitally important and should be studied carefully and, if necessary, printed out, so the affiliate can put them in a place where they can be reviewed as often as necessary to gain an understanding of this business. There is no lesson less important than any other. Some of my affiliates did not complete their lessons and therefore have not been as productive as they could be. And look at this as a bonus: You gain VP every day for completing each lesson and all that is connected with it and answering the quiz question, to see if you understand what you are reading. That's really a great thing. It shows that you are really serious about this business. So be sure to have everyone on your team complete the 30 days training at whatever speed they feel they can do it to gain an understanding of what this business really is. Anything less will not cut it.

Why are badges so important?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

Badges are important because they show your team that you practice what you preach and that you work at what you do in this business. Badges also are tools to encourage affiliates that they can do what you have done. When an affiliate receives a badge, it is recognition for what he has done and it helps his team by encouraging affiliates that they can duplicate his actions.
I have a large downline, but few are advertising SFI. How can I get them to start advertising and marketing SFI?

Start with your affiliate greeting. Offer them shares in your S-Builder Co-Op or any other co-op you have. Give incentives like basing these shares rewards for gaining EA or whatever Team Leader status or the number of VP they earn. Offer help to them in any other way possible. Many affiliates do not have money to advertise at the beginning, so offering free advertising is great! Also, send weekly messages to all your affiliates and show them that it is important to log in every day and gain those points and work hard at their business in order to get commissions. As they gain higher and higher commissions, they can then purchase co-op shares from you to build their business. Or they can do their own advertising if they have the know-how to do that, too. Note those affiliates in your Genealogy (all levels) who are hard workers and those who are not. Give more attention to those who are willing to work and who are potential leaders.

I keep my message like a conversation. First, I tell them that I hope they are doing well. Then I encourage them to keep up the great work they are doing and bring up a topic other affiliates in SFI may have had concerns with or write something interesting about what I am doing with my business or even that I will be away for awhile and always include where they can get help with anything in SFI when asking them if they need help with anything. Be sure and always include your contact information with your SFI ID Number and what rank, if you are a Team Leader.

What should you do if you do not have any communication with your sponsor?

If you do not hear from your sponsor, start by going to, "The Essence of SFI." Then go to your To-Do List and begin to complete those tasks every day. Keep reading and learning from all of the information and teaching tools on the SFI site. Along with that, join A2A and begin communicating with these affiliates, as well as the AskSE area. The HelpDesk and the SFI Forum are also great places to get answers. The Forum has an area where you can ask Gery for help. If you have trouble with issues like paying for something at tripleClicks, there also is the help from Support. You can even use the Live Chat feature. You can also use Live Chat with affiliates that may be online. All in all, there are so many ways to get help and to communicate and help others that you should never despair if your sponsor (or upline members) do not answer or communicate. Just don't be the one who doesn't communicate! Set an example.
