I have been approaching my family and friends for years about different products and services. So I have created a standard that I use, that hopefully won't offend my friends or family.
1. First, I put information on Facebook. I let people know that I am participating in SFI. I ask if anyone has participated in the program and for everyone's opinion. I find most of my family and friends have opinions they like to share.
2. Then I find a product that I think many of my friends would like on TripleClicks and post the "fabulous" price - still on Facebook.
3. Next, I send out an email to my groups. Just one, to ask if anyone has heard of SFI or TripleClicks. I don't send this to strangers. I only send it to family and my affiliate groups that have agreed to emails.
4. By now, most of my family and friends know in which system I am currently participating. So, I ask my hubby to cook a nice barbecue. I make sure that I have various SFI and TripleClicks information around. If they ask about it, I talk about the business. If they don't ask by coffee time, I usually announce what I am doing and expand on what I like about my new job. I make sure to have plenty of cards, or paper flyers on hand to give to anyone that wants information.
5. Over the next few days to a week, I call my friends and family that could not come to the barbeque, and I call the ones that took information home.
6. During this process, I ask if any one wants to post some of their stuff on TripleClicks to sell, and I give them a tcredit. (I will complete this next week I hope)
7. Another way to approach listing on TripleClicks is to offer to list their items for them for a small fee after the item has sold. I would rather they join, but I am not adverse to listing their items. Sometimes that gives them more insite to TripleClicks.
8. I will repeat these steps about every 3 months or so, except to my friends and family that do not want any information.
9. For all of the naysayers I will purchase gifts from TripleClicks for their birthday or a holiday. If they like it, they may join to purchase the gift for themselves.
10. It is ok if they tell you no. I would start listing with craigslist, facebook, twitter, or any other site that you can present information to the most people.
