To be a great salesman /woman, you must understand the following:
I discovered these traits when i was in the field myself. I researched what made great salespersons as i had to sell stuff too for a company. With what i discovered in the lives of Zig Ziglar. Kiyosaki etc. I came up with the following that gave me great sales while others gave up in the company some years back.
1. Build your self esteem. It is your first key. You must know who you are and what you are capable of achieving. Don't over do it. You'll need it on the field.
2. Activate your plan and purpose. This is you having a well detailed plan of what you want. You must be able to visualize the specific profit of what your organization wants, within a specified time and period and execute them by having what i call Vision Board
3. Your Location. Your location determines what is drawn to you. You must know what your location needs and fill it.
4. Your Packaging: the packaging of your product is very vital because it is what represents you and determines your sales. People are easily attracted to beauty and this is what draws people to you.
5. You must have the details of the need of the people you want to sell to. A great salesperson identifies the needs of his/her prospects.
6. Advertisement: you must know how to market your products. This is what differentiate the great sales person to the ordinary. Advertisement is the root of success in any business.
7 Learn to package yourself well. You know a man by the way he dresses. Your competence lies in selling yourself and these are four: Your Mind, Your Face, Your Body and Your Voice.
These four are the four powerful communicating tools that will empower you to sell yourself well.
Your mind and face shows what you want to say, Your Body and Voice says what you want to say. Put on a smiling face. It draws prospects to you and dress corporately. Great salesmen/women do.
8. You must learn how to handle rejection. This is what differentiates the great and successful sales person to the ordinary ones. 98% of sales reps are scared of selling because of being rejected. You must turn that rejection into A TOOL OF POWER IN YOUR MARKETING SALES. This is the pivot that can make you a big sales executive or a failure. Get books that deals with rejection in marketing. Every sales person has had to face rejection one way or the other. How each handled theirs is what spelt their greatness. Eg Kitchen Chef's founder was rejected with his proposal 1,000 times. He never received a no for an answer. He's rich today and became a great salesman.
9. Your Power Of Persuasion. This is what determines the success of a salesman. Your power of persuasion is what determines your sales. If it is low, people won't be convinced and therefore no sales. To build that power you must be convinced yourself and have your own personal results from your own product. This has been the key of great salespeople.
10. Give value for money. Give in use value what you take from prospects and
Lastly, Develop Your Attitude. It is your determinant factor to your greatness as a sales person and determines your relationship with your prospects.
