Should I buy PSAs or learn how to sponsor them myself?

I believe both methods are important. You sponsor an affiliate when you tell a person about SFI and he/she joins. You sponsor affiliates when you purchase them through S-Builder or through co-ops offered by ECAs at TripleClicks. You sponsor them when you advertise, whether through paid methods or through free advertising. You sponsor affiliates when you send an eCard or a gift card to them and they join. You sponsor them when you drive your car with your Wave3 decal on it and hand out a card to them and they join.
Sponsoring is simply having people join in your first level on your Genealogy.
There is only one other thing you should do. Be sure, when you join a co-op or when you advertise on a web site that the site or the company is reputable and has good standing. Also, just know that whether you sponsor a person by face-to-face contact or by advertising or by using the co-ops, including S-Builder, that there is no guarantee that people will really work in this business or just join and do nothing or give up and leave at some point. Your responsibility is to sponsor and help your affiliates by teaching them to do the same. That is called duplication. There are lots of marketing tools here for you to use in your daily business dealings. Choose the ones best suited to you. If you have any ideas on things you would like to see promoted here at SFI for advertising, use the suggestion box to write to Gery Carson. The sharing of ideas is very important, and the open-door policy at SFI is commendable.

What should new affiliates NOT do in their first month?

Affiliate since: 11/13/2001, Power Rank: 74
I find that you have written a very interesting question. Here is what I write as an answer.
The first and most important thing an affiliate should not do is give up. In any business you must have patience and learn all you can learn about the business and how everything works. You cannot learn everything in one day.
The second thing an affiliate should not do is expect instant payment and instant riches. Have you heard of any business where people got paid and became rich immediately? I haven't. I don't think you have either. It takes work, hard work. Even when you work in a field to harvest grain or fruit, you have to pick what you harvest in the hot sun and work your muscles and keep moving. You get paid according to the work you put in during each day's work. You get what you put into the work.
The third thing an affiliate should not do is rush through the site and all the links to gain VP without really reading and understanding what is written in every area on the site and saving or printing the information so that it can be referred to later offline. There is no room for laziness here. It is important to read, read and read some more. You never stop reading or learning. That is why there are all the tools here, in places where affiliates can use them wisely. That is also why there is a translator available on the SFI Website.
The final thing that affiliates should not do is neglect studying the rules and policies of SFI, and, for that matter, any business venture. Rules are made to be followed. This prevents others from getting hurt. It also ensures there is fairness. If you don't familiarize yourself with the rules and policies, you could find yourself out of the business, without any hope of returning. You could also find yourself in a worse situation with the laws of your country or, for that matter, God's laws. Again, these are to be followed for your good and the good of everyone else.
May this answer be of help to you in your work with your affiliates.
Have a productive and successful day!

I see that there are ECAs in my local area who have not yet listed any products. How can I/we encourage them to become active ECAs?

It may be that an ECA has posted products, but the postings have not yet been approved. It also may be that an ECA has a problem with loading products on the site because photos have to be loaded correctly.
Try to find out from the ECA what the problem or situation may be that is keeping the owner from getting the products loaded on site. Then show where the answers are for getting the help needed to complete this activity.
Is it wise to 'bribe' your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives? Or does this practice come back and bite you?

It's never wise to bribe a person, no matter what!
The Bible says, in numerous places, that you must not bribe, because it, "blinds the eyes of those who have sight." It causes a person to fall into horrible evil. You actually become a stumbling block. Reward a person with TCredits or maybe a gift certificate or new affiliates. Any wicked activity will come back to haunt you eternally, and you will face judgment.
How is building a second income with a company like SFI beneficial to me?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

I wil ask you a question. Do you have enough income to make ends meet every month? Now, I will ask you another question. Do you have enough saved for retirement? Here's another thought. Even if you do have enough income to make ends meet or to save for retirement, do you know how things will turn out in the future? Of course not! So it stands to reason that having extra income coming in each month is beneficial for you, because no one knows what needs will come up in the future.
Also, you need to realize that being able to live and work without dependence on a job that could fail unexpectedly, as mine did twice in one year, may be important to you. If it is and you want to spend as much time with family and friends as possible and you want your children to inherit your business, then this should be uppermost in your thoughts. Providing for yourself and your family is so important. This is why SFI and TripleClicks is moving in the business arena and hopefully why you chose to join us.

When faced with negativity in promoting SFI, how do you respond and what path do you take moving forward?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

Realize that we all must face negativity. It's everywhere. It's so engrained in human nature. However, we must understand the potential we have in life and who we really are. This goes for everything in life, in your faith and everything else, for your faith is the root of everything else. People have been hurt so much with bad experiences and have been taught negative things by parents and teachers and others; and many people have low self-esteem and an inferiority complex. When you know the truth about yourself and your relationship to God and others, you learn how to become positive in every situation and learn how to treat kindly those who only can speak things that try to pull you down. What you do is love them, treat them with kindness, forgive them and move on to those who will work with you. Don't let anyone keep you back. Be persistent in your work and keep moving. Someone else will hear what you have to say and will be enthusiastic and join with you. The ones that I call, "kill joys," must be left behind. Just remember that some will, some won't. So what? Someone's waiting. Who's next?
Have a great time working in SFI! Keep moving and striving for your greatest potential. You can and will succeed. I believe in you.

How do you deal with PSAs who you offer unconditional support but still rate you poorly?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

Affiliate since: 11/13/2001, Power Rank: 74
Dealing with PSAs who rate you poorly despite your unconditional support is similar to dealing with negative rejection of this business by people you show the business to, and yu just must realize that no matter what you do, some people have a negative attitude. Don't let this stop you. Just keep on showing kindness and love to them. Try to understand why there is a challenge. Maybe there is a language barrier. Maybe there is a misunderstanding. Maybe the person thinks you should hand out gifts and run the business for him/her.
Be gentle but firm in your relationships. Don't allow others to convince you that they should have their own way, to the detriment of the business model and to others. There are rules to any good business, just as there are rules in life.
Do what you can to encourage, nurture and support. The affiliate ultimately makes the decision whether to stay or not. Your actions must remain stable.

How would it benefit me to transfer TCredits to my PSAs or CSAs?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

Affiliate since: 11/13/2001, Power Rank: 74
If an affiliate was working hard and was very close to becoming a Team Leader of any rank or an EA and had been qualifying each month and really needed some TCredits to reach a goal during the current month, then I would be willing to give some TCredits, as they would help me also to gain a higher rank, in the long run. That would be the only benefit of giving away TCredits.
I hope that this answer helps you in your decision to give TCredits to any of your affiliates in the future.

I need a mentor. What's the best way to find a mentor for SFI?

Affiliate since: 11/13/2001, Power Rank: 74
Your sponsor or your co-sponsor can be your mentor. An upline team member can be your mentor. Your A2A friends who are leaders in this business can be your mentor. Affiliates at the SFI Forum can be your mentor. Best of all, Gery Carson himself, who has put together all of the tools needed for you to learn how this business works, serves as the ultimate mentor, by putting all of these tools here for us to use. Just go to Support and select the questions you want answered. You can even ask Gery Carson himself.

What are the benefits of using an auto-responder system in SFI...or should I not use one?
Jeannette Gerrard, Aff (District of columbia, US)

Affiliate since: 11/13/2001, Power Rank: 74
I would not use autoresponders in SFI and would not advise using them for one reason: Answers should be fresh and communications should be as often as possible with affiliates/customers. That is the only reason I have. It may be that others are using them, but there would have to gbe a very good reason for doing so.
