If you have to work at convincing someone to join SFI, it is not his time to join. You will find that if he is coerced into joining hey will need prodding every inch of the way to EA, if they make it that far.

It is far better to ease up on the skeptics and just let them watch you become a success. You can add a little spice into it by asking them for help with, say getting your new photo into your profile. There he can see your badges. And if you need to check on your Genealogy while he is there, show him how much information you can get from it. Do not emphasize the size of your team, he will catch that himself. Then go and enter the hourly T Time contest.

Be excited and enthusiastic about your business, but keep it your business unless he indicates that he is interested. This may indicate that it is now his time to join.

Do not show him your commission. You may think that $300 is a good size commission, but when you are making thousands, he will remember the $300. Also, his commission will never be the same as yours. He won't have the same determination, etc. So so don't set him up for a mental failure by giving him something to compare to. Don't challenge his to out do you. There are enough challenges to this business, don't add more. We each succeed at our own level.

If you don't have a good sponsor and co-sponsor, don't worry about how important it is for you to have one. Just use the Forum, and the ASK SC answers and all the training that SFI provides. If you are smart in your work, you will get there. Do not be resentful. They earn a commission, if they qualify, because they put in the effort or money to introduce you to SFI. Period.

If you do have a good sponsor or co-sponsor, you will soon learn to appreciate him. That is if you are a good affiliate. Do you reply to your sponsor when he writes you? Everytime? Do you rely on him to answer your questions and doubts? Do you do what he tells your? Or do you reinvent the wheel?

A good sponsor will tell you how to do things, what to do, etc. The name of this game is duplication. When you have a good sponsor or co-sponsor you have someone you can duplicate. That makes it much easier for you to train your PSAs and CSAs to duplicate what you do.

A good sponsor can counsel you on the do's and don'ts of your business. He can guide you on your goals.

Both with and without a good sponsor or co-sponsor, it is your duty to become the best sponsor and co-sponsor that you can be. And remember that co-sponsors should not interfere with the relationship of his CSAs with their sponsors.

You don't ever have to give up on them unless they formally opt-out of SFI. That's not saying it is wise to keep after them year after year.You do have others more likely to become active in SFI.

As a new affiliate with a very small team, I would say keep sending this person personal e-Cards, e-Mails, etc. Vary your styles and approaches,and subjects. Use this person as a chance to develop your skills and style. You might even get an active PSA.

After one full year of inactivity, SFI will "pull the plug" on the inactive affiliate. What this means simply is that they are now officially inactive and must contact SFI if they want to get back in. Unless they request another sponsor, or sign-up again using a different name, they will be signed back into your team.

Meanwhile, they are still retained as your PRM after being deactivated. That means that you can send them Gift Certificates in as large a gift as you want, as often as you want and the money comes back to you unless he uses it before the expiration date.

Perhaps you should ask him before you begin a full fledged campaign pursuing him, if he would like to become active later on, if this is not a good time for him, or if he would rather opt-out.

Pursuing someone who doesn't plan on getting active is a lot of wasted effort, time, and detracts from time spent on active members.

Certainly sending the group mail to him wastes none of your time and may pay off eventually.

Before dong any advertising, review the SFI Affiliate Agreement and the SFI rules & Policies. There is nothing specific about television unless it is classed with digital. Nevertheless, some of the rules apply to all forms of advertising.

One of the biggest rule is that you must use SFI pre-written text ads or banners unless you are a Team Leader. Then you may write your own add and send it in for approval before you use it.

Everything on television is either advertisement, educational, or, entertainment. So before taking SFI or TC to the little screen, you should have your plans approved.

There are several venues of advertising on television:
+ Appear on the news or as a guest on a talk show
+ Sponsor an info-mercial
+ Pay for a regular commercial.

The cost of these varies depending on the size of the viewing audience to the status of the station. .....the big national/international station far exceeds that of the local neighborhood station.

Most of these are scripted so you will want to have the procedures to be complete before filming date.You also need to know the total cost and be able to pay it.

One of the main things I try to do to help my PSAs become team leaders is to teach them the difference between an employee mindset and a business owner mindset. An employee takes orders, a business owner gives orders and is responsible for the way they affect the business.

And employee only works his assigned hours, a business owner works as long as it takes each day. An employee knows when he will be paid and how much. A business owner doesn't know when his big pay will come nor how much it will be.

I'm trying to teach my PSAs to take responsibility for their business, decisions, and actions.

I am also directing my PSAs against the minimums. If we have all those AVP from the To Do List and we are encouraged to buy a 1500 SVP Standing Order, why not keep some of the To Do List for the next month or so. And why not aim for BTL since you can get SVP credit for 2000 VP at Bronze?

Get a quick start towards success. They are more likely to hang on if they are past the beginning stages.

I do reassignments when there are people from the same country or language. This gives my PSAs a chance at a stronger team. I don't look at the fact that some are inactive. I am looking at the future and what my PSA can learn from the reassignment, how to use the Genealogy, Mailer systems, Stream, etc.

I encourage my PSAs to finish earning the EA at the beginning of the month. No more scraping for the final VP at the end of the month. This leaves the majority of the month for building the team. I often give an incentive prize to those who finish in the first week.

I treat my team like intelligent people, not checker board pieces. I give hints, suggestions, encouragement. It's up to them to make their moves and decisions.

Years ago in another affiliate business, I was told, "Never, ever, ever, ever, ever give up." I think that was said by Winston Churchill during WWII. My sponsor and I did well in that business but gave up the ship as we found the ethics crumbling. We would not be part of that. We got out before they were taken to court.

But we didn't give up. After searching for a few years, my sponsor found SFI, and after a year, he introduced it to me.

There have been times I had pondered quitting. I am not an expert on the computer, but have found my skills to be adequate, and have even grown in my skills.

I have become discouraged when my huge group (of 100) PSAs were all inactive, and decided that I could not become a team leader because no one was allowing themselves to be led. But never, ever, ever, ever give up.

As I communicated with them anyway, some became active. As I learned what prevented new PSAs from taking off with this business, I answered their questions without them asking.

As I read the Forum and my fellow affiliates opened up to me, I found out that many of the successful leaders have thousands of PSAs and CSAs. And while I am not there yet, I still am active recruiting. Never, ever, ever, stop.

While being an ECA can be profitable, it can also be extra work. If you already own a store or business, it won't be much more to do, but if you are creating a business for the purpose of being an ECA, then you must also consider what it will take to set it up and keep it running.

You must have a good idea about what you will be selling and where you will buy the products. If you are using drop shipping, then you must also have contracts worked out. Then you must pay for your TC License and apply to become an ECA.The next step is listing your products and uploading a photo of each. This will take some time to complete.

Then you must advertise your ECA store, pack and ship the orders, and answer questions from customers. Or ECA income relies on each order as it comes in. Any break in orders cuts your income from your store.

Referring ECAs, on the other hand requires much less time. You contact a merchant, interview him, give him a brochure. Do a follow up. Help him fill out his TC membership and ECA application. And wait for the money to roll in in the form of royalties.

As you repeat the process with more businesses, you begin to see a great residual income forming and you won't have to do anything to maintain it.

The newest creative way to get people to sign up for TC is the new Wave 3 and it's many parts. I especially like the Friend Challenge. You have to do well at a game and then you are awarded the right to send out challenges to your friends for 10 days. Since these are people whom you already know and have relationships with, they are more likely to take you u on your challenge. When they find out what the stand to gain by sending out challenges and invites, they will also send to their friends and those will become your PRMs. When your friend joins SFI then his referrals start to become his PRMs but the original ones remain yours.

The links we are given to send out to our friends are presently safe at Facebook so this opens up that field for us.

While we can wrack our brains trying to come up with something new and original, duplicating what SFI brings to our tables will work for us without having to spend so much time figuring creative things out. And we are less likely to get into trouble.

The two most common excuses for not buying from TripleClicks have been, "I don't have any money," and, "The shipping is too expensive."

By moving the focus onto buying from local ECAs, the affiliate can often buy products that have little or no shipping cost. This gives them useable products and increases the local economy instead of sending money out of the country, it stays in the local country and improves on the profit line of the EA.

A wise affiliate will also taylor make his own purchasing market of items that he wishes to buy using his money and getting SVP in return along with the product. This wise one will also search for vendors who already sell the necessary items and who will list them on TC.

This strengthens both the local economy and lowers the total cost of the locally purchased items.

A team leader can also take new affiliates to an ECA and discuss the pros & cons of buying from the ECAs.

The very best way for an ECA to drop ship is to find a manufacturer that will work with him, assuring him a steady line of products, and who will give him a certain amount of credit, letting him pay after he is paid.

When an ECA uses a drop shipper, what he is doing is waiting until he has an order for a specific, covered product, and then alerting the supplier to ship the item to the customer in a "plain brown wrapper." That is, the ECA has a contract with a supplier to sell him their items at a discounted price, and will ship them to his customer in a way that the customer does not learn who the supplier is.

The advantages are that the ECA neither has to buy by the case, nor pay for a case of items and then have to warehouse them until sold. He won't be stuck with any if they don't sell. Nor does the ECA have to do the actual shipping.Pretty easy sales there.

But the hard part is finding a good supplier of goods. They come in two groups: the manufacturers and the middlemen (wholesalers).

The wholesalers always take their profit and leave some room for the ECA to add his profit. But you can guess who gets the better profit. Also, a wholesaler may not have a reliable supplier himself and may run out of stock and not tell you that the item is no longer available.

The manufacturer who will drop ship is harder to find. Most large manufacturers won't have anything to do with drop shipping because it is labor intensive and the return is small. But the smaller, newer ones who are still looking to become known will make arrangements to drop ship.

Then there is the problem about when something is paid for. When someone buys a product from an ECA in TripleClicks, he pays for it right away. But the ECA gets the money from that sale only after there is proof of shipment. If the manufacturer or wholesaler wants cash up front before he ships the item, the ECA must have the means and ways to foot the bill until he gets his money. Unless when the contract is drawn up, there is a provision for a 30 days to pay.

There are other things that will be in the contract.
