Whether You live in Africa or USA, SFI does not mind that. Its a online global business and can be carried from any part of world just with an internet connection, nothing else is required. There are several members from Africa are already there who are highly successful in SFI. Just go to country leader board and find the top guys from your country. Add them using a2a and ask how they managed to be successful in SFI. Their tips will help you more.
Just read online marketing tips anywhere you can including SFI training materials. Build your business online. You do not have to get worried about your geographic locations.

What are the benefits of using an auto-responder system in SFI...or should I not use one?

Its very much needed in SFI i feel and hence we have a option for "personal welcome message". How you use it is very important. I feel you can use it to gain your PSAs faith or even loose faith at times. The points you must take care when writing.
1. Use a real one : This means do not write as a spammer with so many mouth watering words. keep it simple
2. Do not use links much: This gives a very bad impression about you. sometime you may loose the affiliate completely because of this.
3. promise to help: This is very important. always put a sentence stating that, you will be always there to guide him through rough patches. This can really make a big deference.
4. Put your email id or phone number: This shows the person is real and he is available for help.

If you had to start over with SFI, having the knowledge and tools you have now that you didn't have before, what would you do differently?

Great question and I am sure many affiliates must be thinking of starting again. I was a member of SFI 5 years back and that time i missed many thing as i could not understand at that point of time. Then i learned the tools slowly and came back to SFI after 2 years. So you want to know how did i approached in my second attempt with all knowledge? Here are they....
1. I signed up and just scored 500 VP on my 2hrs to receive the Fast Track Badge and reward VP.
2. Then i just kept working on my daily actions to grab those 11 VP and kept my eye on Green line. Also i ordered the Wave 3 kit on first day.
3. From my day one i started building my Team. Referred as many as persons i can.
4. Just taught them what step i was following which is known as duplication in technical language.
5. When i came near to the end of the month i ensured i made it to EA and kept the maximum free actions possible for next month.
6. Then I became ECA and started selling my own products and made money.
7. I maintained EA2 rank every month and kept advertising till i get 5 best affiliates. After that I advanced to TL rank and made most out of my Team. Then i just started teaching them the way i did and helped them getting their 5 best affiliates.

Very tricky question and options will certainly vary from affiliate to affiliate...However, I will present a general advantages and disadvantages of all the three, after that It will be you to decide which is best for you
1. IAHBE: Undoubtedly was the best one few years back. Its best part is It contains all the information that one need to succeed online, experience of pioneers of online marketing and some helpful tools. But the drawbacks are most of the sofwares are outdated and are not able to give result as used to give during few years ago. It gives theoretical knowledge but the success is not guaranteed. You may lead to find it very hard to apply all the information practically. But you still get 1500 VP for it which is an advantage.
2. S-Builder: Useful but costly in comparison to others. Usually, it takes all your headache to build your SFI Team but it costs you high. Ofcourse, the campaign is always of high quality by SFI but you can still end up with low quality PSAs. If you have money to spend or you are new to this world or do not have time, this is the best option for you at the beginning. The drawback is, it do not gives you enough VP.
3. TCredits: One of the wonderful thing SFI has. This keeps SFI and TC live all the time. 125 Pak is a great option for those who can play tricky auctions. If you really utilize these TCredits, you can win 100s of PSAs and CSAs using penny auction and also can get 1500 VP easily.

A very practical as well as tricky question. The tip must be practically possible, easy to understand,most importantly easy to perform. Of course if your brand new PSA is already an experienced marketer , your tip may not worth much to him/her. But if he is new to this world, It worth more than anything to him/her.

Make a perfect partition to grow in SFI. I would suggest you a plan which certainly the best in my mind.
1. Set up a SO of 125 Pak. It will give you 1500 VP and will give you chance to participate in auctions (you can win 100s of PSAs or S-builder paks using it). The better part is it will provide 125 action VPs which is necessary to become Team Leader. It costs you $36.
2. Set up 2 units of S-builder in SO. This will help you building quality team members. Also it will give you 560 VP. Thus your total VP from sales become more than 2000 which is allowed for team leader status. This will cost you $44.
3. Now you are left with $20. Keep them safe for your team contest. Organize a team contest every month and set up cash prizes for your down line. This will motivate your downline and automatically strengthens your SFI business.
This can certainly set up your business in line in few months.

To be frank, both initial contact and follow up are very important to generate real active affiliates. But each have its own merit.
Initial contact generate few benefits as mentioned below
1. It generates faith in the mind of new affiliate that he has joined a real company rather than a scam. And this is very important to generate a good active affiliate
2. It gives him/her confidence of a team or an experienced person behind him. When you get support from someone from your online, it really boosts your confidence.
3. Also it helps in coming out of the overwhelming SFI system. Many leave SFI due to overwhelming. So by initial contact you can overcome it.
Follow ups has many benefits too indeed and i can list only few here
1. Few good and quality affiliates start working fast and suddenly disappear due to various reasons. In that case follow up is the best method to bring them back to the right track and keep them focused
2. There are so many dead affiliates in everybody's Genereology. So regular follow up some times generate few coming live again.
3. Follow ups also help up in simplifying SFI to the affiliates which helps in getting their understanding more clear.
